Despondent over apparent gain, please help
I am a big fan of Miralax and Benefiber. I also added a little bit of fruit back into my diet even during the losing stage. Fruit is healthy and I didn't really care how fast I got to goal. I'd rather have good colon health!

Update on Surgery against my Will
She has made it clear that she is not happy with the sleeve, and is not asking for support. There are many posters who need and ask for our support. I think this thread just needs to go away and die and let her deal with this in whatever way she wants to.

One Year VSG Anniversary
Congratulations! I am so glad you're still here posting. You must be happy about being thin now and all that icky stuff is behind you. Please always stick around here because there will probably be a lot of people who you will be able to help when they get "buyer's remorse" You are an inspiration!

Which was worse getting the sleeve or having a c-section?
There is no comparison. I didn't even have pain medications with the sleeve after the first 24 hours. I had it right after surgery for pain in the left shoulder from gas. With the C sections, I was in bed and cried from the incision pain.

looking for a snack
They have those foil packages of tuna that are flavored. Are you able to get those. Good grief, I would send you some. There are also little cans of chicken salad and deviled ham. Maybe I should send you a package with those things and cocoa dusted almonds.

Protein bars?
I looked at the Pure Protein bars today at the store and they had 9 grams of sugar alcohol. If I ate one of those, I had better plan to stay home alone for quite awhile. Sugar alcohol and I do not get along well at all so I avoid it like the plague. The Oh Yeah Bars are not something I ate when I was losing. I eat them now, because I figure it's better than eating candy.

The 100 calorie packs of cocoa dusted almonds are really good.

Protein bars?
Oh they seem to think that if you subtract the fiber from the carbs, you come out with net carbs. Some people believe they can only count net carbs, and some believe a carb is a carb. Just depends on which way you want to look at it. In the Atkins books, they swear that you only need to count net carbs.

Protein bars?
I believe that the Pure Protein bars have sugar alcohol in them which gives me horrible gas. I'll have to look on the label next time I am in a store.

Let's count Dr. Aceves Patients!
Yes, Dr. Campos is a hottie and has a very sweet personality to boot. Both he and Dr. Aceves are more caring and attentive than any dr. I have ever gone to in my entire life.

What to bring what to buy?
No, I have the Walmart brand that's like a magic bullet and I've been using it for 3 years.

Tons of questions from a newbie!
My hair is growing back but it's still not as thick as it was. It's going to take awhile since I lost so much. Nobody really knows what causes it. There have been some articles posted that it's just from the shock to your body that surgery causes. I don't think it has anything to do with lack of Vitamins because I took hair and nails vitamins, a multiple Vitamin, Zinc ( Dr Aceves suggested zinc)Biotin, and anything anyone suggested to me.

Let's count Dr. Aceves Patients!
isn't that great! I had some nausea a couple of months after I was sleeved and I didn't know if it was sleeve related or not.I had emailed them and asked if it could be related since I was 2 months post op. Dr. Campos called me and I was so shocked! I wasn't expecting a phone call from him. I thought they would just email back to me, but he called immediately!

What to bring what to buy?
Ask Nina to email the list that they have. They have a standard list of what to take with you and what you will need when you come home. The main thing is flip flops. It's hot down there at this time of year and you need to walk and need them because they are easy to put on and take off.

Syntrax Nectar Whey Protein Isolate?
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Nectar products. It's a good form of protein, and a nice change from some of the milky flavored ones.

Tons of questions from a newbie!
Dr. Aceves is great. You can get your surgery done very quickly after you fill out the medical form he will email to you. I only had 30 lbs to lose when I had my band to sleeve revision. I lost half my hair and got in all the required amounts of Protein and took Biotin 3x per day. If you call them, they will answer all your questions.

What protein have you liked the best?
PVL whey Gourmet Peanut Butter and chocolate is delicious. You can get it from Netrition.com. The shipping there is 4.95 for no matter now much stuff you order. I think anyone starting out should go to the food section and look for the thread "places to order samples" You can try samples of many things without ordering big tubs of stuff you may not like. I like BSN Lean Dessert Choc. Fudge pudding and I like to mix it with the banana pudding. I get it from vitacost.com Again, the shipping is 4.99 for no matter how much stuff you order. I am sure they would carry the OH Yeah, because that's where I get my Oh Yeah Protein bars. I like the choc. mint and the choc. peanut butter. They are like Kit Kat bars. very yummy

looking for a snack
I love the Oh Yeah Protein bars that you order from vita cost.com.I love the Peanut Butter and chocolate and the chocolate mint. They are 15 grams of protein and I believe 7 grams of carbs. I am also a big fan of the Premeir ones from costco already mentioned.

Why the protein???
It depends on your height. For a woman 5'2" I was told by my nutritionist, I need 60 grams per day. More is better, but it's not necessary for me to get 100 grams per day. You can look online and find out exactly how much you need. Without Protein, you will lose muscle, not fat. The more muscle you have in your body, the more calories you burn in your daily routines, not counting the extra you burn exercising.
