  1. Would you all just quit posting. It's clear that I am the winner!
  2. is Crystal Light made with aspertane? I have heard that stuff is really bad for us. I am not as afraid of splenda, but I won't drink/eat anything made with that stuff. I have read a bunch of stuff about it and it's not good for us at all.
  3. I still have all my clothes in all the sizes. I have always been afraid something would go wrong with my band and it would have to be removed. Now I have decided on my own to have it removed and get the sleeve. Once that is over with, I will get rid all those clothes. The sleeve is permanent and there is no chance of it slipping or eroding so I will feel like it's okay to be confident that I won't need those clothes.
  4. You must have had a lot of pages to catch up on. This is one thread that is hard to keep up with!
  5. Nice to see a doctor agrees with me.
  6. I would be happy to send her out of town! She keeps calling me because she says I am the only person she trusts, but I am not allowed to tell her anything. I really hate being in the middle. I think I am just going to tell her to think back on things and try to remember what her son could have told the authorities. Maybe a light bulb will come on.
  7. Anyone here who has a slipped band should start reading the section of the board where people are getting sleeves. the alternative is damaging your stomach to a point where no weight loss surgery will work or be possible. it's diet and exercise or nothing if that happens and we all know how well that has worked for us in the past.
  8. I am such a baby when it comes to pain, but I will take pain meds if I have to! Will dr. aceves send me home with a script?
  9. I really loved that movie. We should put that one in the movie thread.
  10. exactly. I don't want anyone to think I don't have empathy for all this stuff that is going on, but this is one thread that is really hard to reply back to everyone. It's not that I don't want to but I find it rather impossible. Yea, it's my effed up niece (by marriage no relation I must add) She just had a baby and has a 13 yr old and a 6 yr old and just had her 3rd boy. The nurses in the hospital reported her for some other weird stuff. I have to say that my daughter is one of the nurses on that unit. Her poor 13 yr old finally realized that he could not handle another baby being brought into that situation. It's one really sick situation.
  11. Good thing I will be having it done in the spring. I may have to sleep in the recliner for awhile and it's cold in my family room! I know some people said they had to do that have after band surgery, but like I said before I experienced zero pain after my band surgery.
  12. I can only hope. Does that mean I will stop turning to ice cream every time I am stressed? Sign me up!
  13. That reminds me of David Letterman's "will it float?"
  14. I am sorry but I am always too lazy. I do read them all though, and feel empathy. I just spend entirely too much time on LBT. Somebody tell me how a grown woman can sit naked on her 13 yr old son's face and fart and think this is normal behavior? No, I will not be taking the kids, but I am sure I will be helping out a great deal with their care.
  15. PJTP I don't know how people can take speed. I have a cold right now and I took some cold medicine. I feel all jumpy and wonder why people would take something to feel this way on purpose. Lots of drama on this thread. My niece had her kids taken away including a new baby she had on Monday. I am going to court tomorrow and will find out exactly how abusive she was to her older kids. The sad part is she has really good kids.
  16. I have a big ad across half the recipe so I can't see the right half :cursing:
  17. Does calcium citrate come in a chewable? My dr. and nutritionist both told me that the body hardly absorbs calcium carbonate. At my age, I don't want osteoporosis. I chew up those chocolate calcium chews too, but they are calcium carbonate, so I think I do it mainly because they taste good. I take the citrucil petites which are calcium citrate, but I want to go to chewables. Does anyone know if you can get calcium citrate in a chewable? I don't have a costco here. I get everything at walmart, but I will order online if I have to.
  18. Gall bladder pain is on the right side by your ribs. It usually goes through into your back. I can't say if that's what pain you're experiencing, but the lap band surgery pain usually does not last very long. People are back to their old selves pretty quickly. Which side is your port on? I think you're doing fine on what you're eating and drinking. Make sure you drink water too.
  19. This thread will go on for years.
  20. Thanks for posting that. I honestly never knew it was possible to have an orgasm without g spot or clitoral stimulation. I wish I could!
  21. I really like Netrition.com Their shipping is 4.95 for no matter what you order and they have everything you can think of.
  22. My bf and I really have a hard time picking movies to rent. He likes the guy movies of course, (action type) and sci fi. I hate either of those type of movies. I like comedies and dramas. We both liked Grand Torino. Those are the types of movies we can watch together. I saw Slum Dog and thought it was a good movie. I saw it because I figured it would win the award. I didn't think it was as good as "the Best Movie of the Year" Nobody has mentioned Changling. That was a good movie. I am lucky that it's really cheap to go to the movies here, so I go often. It would be nice to find more that I could see with the bf, but mostly I go with my other friends. I hope this thread keeps going so I can write down some ideas of movies to rent. I am always walking around Blockbuster in a daze, not knowing what to get. I want to rent Crash, because bf has never seen it, but it's always out.
  23. It's hard for those of us to even find the newbies sometimes. It's not that people who have been banded awhile are snobbish, it's just that living with the band has become a way of life. We don't have the questions so we don't go board hopping hoping to find the answers. Sometimes when I have the time, I will click on new posts and try to answer people's questions. Since I am on a computer all day at work, I just don't feel like being on here as much as I did when the band was new and I needed to read as much as I could to learn about how to live with the band. I am on the 50's thread all the time, because that's where I started. I was over 50 when I got banded and I wondered if weight loss would be the same as it is for younger people. I usually check out the girl's room, because there can be some interesting conversations in there. Sometimes we just get sick of only talking about the band.
