I have to agree that it was quite traumatic for me to wake up in the middle of the night coughing and choking on vomit. I am sick to death of worrying about either being too tight or too loose or whether or not the band wrapped around my stomach is damaging my stomach while I think and wonder if everything is fine.

Dr. Aceves in Mexico is $12,500 for a revision surgery from band to sleeve. He is an excellent doctor and the hospital he works out of is like a 5 star hotel. He is very experienced with band to sleeve revisions and I would not go to anyone else. I didn't feel that way when I got banded, but Dr. Aceves really has a lot of experience and is an excellent surgeon.

I can't wait to get my revision surgery. I thought you weren't supposed to get hungry with the sleeve though. You said you were hungry at first.

My doctor charges 160.00 for fills. Whether or not your insurance company covers fills is strictly up to your policy. some insurance companies do, and some don't. You need to research that.

I am not an angry sleeve patient. I still have my band but I am playing it safe and having it removed while I can because I know many, many, people who were happy with their bands until they failed them by eroding or slipping.

Stories like this are exactly why I am getting a revision from band to sleeve. I want that band out before I have problems. I don't want to take any chances that I will not be able to have a different WLS if my band fails. I keep hearing more and more stories like this.

When you get a revision from band to sleeve, does that make you a renewbie?

There is a chance that the band they put on you was small for your stomach size. This should be okay because as you lose weight you will lose the fat pad around your stomach and the band will loosen. Do tell you dr. about this and don't get a fill until all this changes. Like I said before, stick with something warm first, like warm tea, soup, before trying to eat.

You know, I finally got sick and tired of all this filling and unfilling and worrying about restriction and damaging my esophagus. That's why I am scheduled for a revision surgery to a sleeve. It's going to be nice never to worry about restriction or fills ever again!

I think that is why DD and I are so close now. She tried pulling all that cr@p and it was me thinking "been there, done that" I knew every trick in the book and I wasn't going to let her make the mistakes I made. I am very proud of her now. She is an RN and dropped all her druggie friends after H.S. who are all big losers now with basically no lives. It was worth all the hell she put me through.

The best thing about DDs growing up are grandbabies! My grandson is going to have his first birthday next month and he is just starting to take his first steps. He is so adorable! My DD was hell to raise between age 13-18 but we are very close like best friends now. She made me a thing at those paint your own pottery places that says "My Mom My Best Friend" last year for mother's day. It made me cry.

You might still have swelling that has not gone down. As you lose weight, the band will loosen on your stomach. You may not need a fill for awhile. Don't get one until this is resolved. Also, try warm liquids like soup. Warm opens the band. Cold clamps it down.

Where are you in Arizona? I am going there next week for 10 days. I have met some really nice bandsters from the Phoenix area and I want to make some more bandster friends from that area.

Oh darn, I have to order some of that stuff. I would suppose with shipping, it just would not work out if I can buy it for $4 a bottle. No matter where I get it though, I am going to have to pay shipping. What is it you don't like about it and what did you find that's better. I need to find a good clear Protein when I have my revision surgery,

Yes, you are over filled. This is nothing to fool around with. It's dangerous. Call your doctor and tell him. They can either do an esophagram to see how well things are moving down, or just remove a tiny bit and see if the problem continues.

I really can't say, as nobody as ever asked me about it. I have been in several long term relationships as well as married twice. I never even thought about it until I saw that tube of lube that started this whole thread. I am so glad my bf has never approached that subject too, I must add. Even though some women on this thread have reported that it can be amazing, I am with your wife on this one. It sounds painful and no fun to me!

Those are the prices for Dr. Aceves. I don't think anyone in the US is any lower. Dr. Aceves is a fabulous doctor and the hospital he practices at is like a 5 star hotel. I have several friends that have gone to him and have nothing but good things to say.

They are really cheap at Walmart too. I keep them in my purse in a different smaller bottle and they are a life saver the few times I have had to use them. They taste good too!

i am having a revision to a sleeve. I am sick of the band. It's been a big problem for me for awhile and I want something where I don't have to keep going back to the dr.

I do believe the sleeve surgery is 9500 and the revision from band to sleeve is 12,500.00. I am pretty sure that is correct. that is what they told me when I scheduled my surgery.

I am having him do my revision surgery from band to sleeve. He is a very good doctor. I know somebody who knows him personally and you will be in good hands. In my opinion, he would be the only doc in Mexico that I would recommend. He has a great deal of experience, and the hospital he works out of is wonderful . I know several people who have gone to him and they all loved him, his staff, and the hospital.

I would say if you take it with plenty of Water, you can flush it through your band into your regular stomach. I take all sorts of capsules and some of them are pretty big. I take them with warm water, as warm things open the band.

My surgeon told me it had nothing to do with banding.I told him he was crazy. I know someone who had her band removed because it was so bad. Mine comes and goes. I definitely have it after I eat but it does go away. After banding, I had it for months. At first I thought it was bursitis but then I realized it had to do with banding. I never had it after surgery, it started a few months after. It was gone for a long time, but it's back since I had a new fill. If it's really bad, you can get some fill taken out, but I would say my experience has been that it will go away when you lose a little and the band loosens.
