  1. yea, I do use the Miralax too, but not every day. It's really a laxative, and I would rather get my system going from getting enough fiber in my diet but it's just not happening.
  2. I am not really sure how many carbs this kind has. It's not breaded. It's chicken cooked in the sauce, but as with most sauces, I wipe as much of the sauce off as I can. BBQ sauce can have a lot of carbs too.
  3. Georgia, it sounds like you and I eat the identical foods. One of the grocery stores here has Chinese food at the deli and I will often get teriaki (sp?)chicken
  4. I've bought a lot of stuff at Goodwill. I've found some things in there that were brand new. Plus the clearance sales are great.
  5. Yes, I am getting confused because some people posting in here are talking about restriction like it's a band or something. Don't you have immediate restriction with the sleeve?
  6. We always take our clothes to our support group and share our clothes that way. Everyone brings their stuff in. Do you go to a support group through your doctor's office?
  7. I wish that benefiber didn't give me so much gas. It's embarrassing. There has to be a fine line as to how much to put into a drink so it doesn't give me gas. So far, a teaspoon full makes me start tooting fairly quickly:confused::thumbup:
  8. Susan, are you trying to figure out a way you can have the band removed and get a sleeve. I am going to do that as soon as I can figure out where the money is going to come from. Someone told me about 0% loan for one year, but I am afraid I wouldn't be able to get it paid back in a year. Next year I will have my car paid off, and that's a big chunk of money going out every month. I hate to wait a year though. Around the same time, I can pull money out of my IRA although at the rate it's dropping, there might not be any left!
  9. Yes, I have started taking the miralax more regularly and it is a big help.
  10. I really would like to come across someone who has had their band for over 10 years and find out if they are experiencing any problems. Everyone I know who has been banded more than 3years has all sorts of problems. The band can damage the stomach and the esophagus.
  11. Has the original question been answered? Are there people who have the sleeve who aren't able to make it to goal?
  12. How soon do you feel you would be able to go back to work if you had a desk job? Did they remove your band at the same time?
  13. I have some capsules that I have to take for a bladder disease. Will I not be able to take those immediately after surgery?
  14. I have decided I am sick of the band and I want it out. I can't tell my boss why I need time off work. I really had no recovery with the band surgery. I had it on a fri and went back to work on Monday. I had no pain what so ever and really could not even tell I had surgery. I have heard that the revision surgery is more painful due to having the port removed. Does anyone know how much time I will need off from a desk job? I really plan to sneak out of town and only tell my kids what I am doing. Not many people even know I have the band. Thanks, I appreciate any advice anyone can give me.:hurray:
  15. Susan, I am sorry your band is giving you so much trouble. It scares me that the band is so unpredictable for some people. Kat, I am so glad they found out what was wrong. I will keep praying for a full recovery. I am so sorry for all the stress and worry you must have been going through.
  16. I am not worried about insurance approval. I am worried that the Dr. will say my band is functioning for now. I can't afford to take off work, get down there and not get the revision. I will self pay, and it would be a drag to sell stocks at a loss and have it be for nothing if he says I don't need a revision. I hate my band too. I have no restriction, but I am worried if I get the fill, I'll probably be puking in my sleep again.
  17. Do they remove some of the scar tissue that has built up between the port and the tubing to the band? I really want to get rid of this thickness at my waist which I am sure is mostly scar tissue around the tubing.
  18. You probably are in need of some testosterone cream. It makes all the difference in the world. IT brings the desire back. Are you on any HRT at all. You will need something for dryness as well.
  19. That is such good news Kat. What is her diagnosis? I am glad she is home. She needs her mommy! Your TLC will make her well faster.
  20. I question it as well. Just yesterday she talked about how she can't wait to be able to eat a snickers bar and still lose weight. I have given up talking to her about it. Her insurance has denied her, so it's up in the air as to whether she will win the appeal. I am really trying to figure out how to get a revision beginning of April. I will be in AZ anyway, so it's just a matter of getting down to San Diego. I am so afraid of going down there and having him tell me he won't do a revision surgery for one reason or another. I am going to call him Monday and see what is required. If all that is required is the fact that I still have an overweight bmi after 2 years of being banded, that would be great. I don't think another fill would ever get me to a normal bmi.
  21. Yea, finally it does make some sense explained this way.
  22. Thanks Mac. I just worry about my friend who is getting the sleeve because I know how she likes to eat. She eats out just about every day, and I just don't know how she is going to deal with taking the majority of her meal home. She is already talking about how after she has the sleeve, it won't bother her to eat small portions, because she will know she will be able to eat again soon. I wonder about that for me as well, because I eat out often too. But, I am used to eating like a bandster, so it will not be as big of a shock to me as it will be to her. It really bothers me right now that I am so loose that I can really eat anything I want to eat, and have to force myself to cut way back on my portion sizes. I remember when I was a lot tighter, and I told my daughter that eating was just too much trouble. I really liked that feeling. Nancy, Yes, my daughter's pregnancy does have everything to do with the 40 lbs she gained. She hasn't lost anything that she gained during her pregnancy. She assumed it would be easy to take her pregnancy weight off. She doesn't dump like she used to, so being able to eat sweets again is her downfall. There are many people with gastric bypass who get too thin and look terrible, but I really don't know anyone who stays that way long term. The gal that leads our support group had GP 10 years ago, and she is one of the only people I know that has kept all the weight off. BUT she works out like a mad woman and does not eat any sweets, and hardly any carbs. She is really good about weighing herself every day, and if she gains 5 lbs, she puts herself back on 4 Protein shakes a day. She reminds us all the time that WLS is just a tool, and no surgery is going to do all the work.
  23. You know what is really scary? People shrink. My dad used to be 5'4" and now he is shorter than me. I am 5'2" . I don't want to shrink! Beth, be glad all she did was write you a nasty note. I got back to my car once and the person had keyed my brand new car. LJM, I am sorry you had a bad pb. I haven't done that in such a long time. I am getting a fill on 3/2 and I almost don't want to. I know that being able to eat anything I want right now is not a good thing though.
  24. What a bummer. That would stink being messed up right from the get go. It would seem like the dr would have to compensate the person in some way, if they admitted it was their error.
  25. So again, there is clitoral stimulation going on. What I want to know is how is it possible to have an O without clitoral stimulation?
