  1. Your real cost in complications would be in the hospital charges, does his protection cover that?
  2. So how is the diet coming? Remember the first days are the toughest! Jello,, pudding, jello, pudding Protein PROTEIN,PROTEIN!
  3. Here is the version on Dr OZ's website: Ingredients 1 cup cauliflower, grated 1/2 cup shredded light mozzarella cheese 1 egg 1 tsp oregano 2 tsp basil 2 tsp parsley 1/2 tsp fennel 1 green pepper 1 onion 1 tomato Garlic powder, to taste Directions Chop pepper, onion and tomato. Set aside. Steam the cauliflower, let it cool and then grate it. Combine grated cauliflower with the mozzarella and egg in a large bowl. Spray a circular or rectangular metal pan with cooking spray before spreading the dough evenly. Sprinkle the dough with fennel, oregano, parsley and basil. Add garlic powder. Bake at 450° F for 12-15 minutes. Remove the dough from the oven and sprinkle chopped green pepper, onion and tomato, as well as the remaining mozzarella cheese on top. Return the pizza to the oven. Turn the heat up to broil and leave in until the cheese has melted and the crust is crispy. i did not steam my cauliflower, I chopped it in the magic bullet, I also put a clove of garlic in the cauliflower. I did not add cheese till the end like the above recipe and I DID and WILL always use pizza sauce on it!
  4. Your Doctors office should have a list of support groups in your area, or check with the hospital you had the surgery at also. You can google support groups in your area as well as look at obsieityhelp.com. When I could not find one that worked for me in my area, I created one! As for the ticker, click on someone ones and it will take you to the site that makes them and then copy and paste the code it gives you to your profile by clicking on the area at the top that says "signed in as.............." and then chose my profile and then signatures and paste it there!
  5. Lisa, I guess this strikes a cord with me because just hearing how he is acting reminds me of my ex husband. Not allowed to use the cars he pays for????? HELLO marriage is 50/50. I agree he is threatend, but his true nature is showing at his finest. I wish you the best Lisa, please get in a vsg support group and find some help with your marriage.
  6. I made this tonight and there is one problem,,,,,,, I ATE TOO MUCH! If you are craving pizza this is the healthy fix you need!
  7. Congrats! HAVE FUN shopping, but save some money for the future because you are going to go through sizes FAST!
  8. The doc that refused the lap bound was a blessing in disguise. Can I ask your reasons for plication over sleeve?
  9. First off, congrats and kudos to you for being strong enough to know what you want and going for it! Everything you describe ( as far as your stomach) is normal. I can't comment on the mashed potatoes as I have not had them since because I don't do carbs. As for your husband,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I have heard of being scared but not going with you or seeing you in the hospital? That is down right mean and uncaring. What if something had happened? Is he a big guy? I strongly suggest you get into a support group for VSG and that you see someone to evaluate your marriage.
  10. Thank you SO much for this post! I just printed it and I am giving it to my husband how is affraid of giving up food. I have been trying to tell him that you still enjoy and feel satisfied, but maybe coming from a guy he will believe it more?
  11. I went to my closet to try on the last of what was hanging there and sadly not one thing is salvageable. I now own 2 pairs of jeans ( one pair is a hand me down from my 23 year old,yes that thrills the sh*t out of me), a pair of work out pants, one sweat shirt, 2 shirts, and one tshirt, my under ware drawer is in a much sadder state
  12. I am four months out and I feel pretty good when I eat just about anything. The trick for me is going slow and really listening for the full clue. It took about 3 months to get to where eating was just eathing and not having to put a lot of mental effort into. Still LOTs of gurgling and burping,, doc says that is for life (but it is not as loud as it use to be)
  13. How in the heck do they consume thousands of calories in a day and stay normal weight???
  14. First off, I have lost 96 total,, 50 of that was pre op. So that is 46 pounds in 4 months, so yes that is still amazing. I was not complaining, rather I am expressing my frustration at the long stalls in between loss, and yes I thought it would go just a little quicker than it, or at least hoped. It is so frustrating to see the scale sit for 3 weeks at the same number when eating so little and exercising.
  15. I had 2 food dreams I clearly remember. The first was sometime after surgery,, I don't remember details except for plates of food coming at me. The second was about 10 days post op, I actually woke up making chewing motions with my mouth. It is our subconscious mouning the loss of food and the change. Think of it as one last plea from our brain to go back to to comfort of the past. Dreams are just one more way we work out our problems.
  16. I am 4 months out and a slow (sore) loser also! I stalled for 6 weeks and have since lost in 2 or 3 pound increments with 3 or 4 weeks in between. I DEFINITELY do not eat any where near what I ever did ! I focus on Protein first. My typical day is as follows: B- Protein shake S- Greek yogurt L- chicken or tuna Dinner- chicken or protein shake. Average calories in a day 7-900 hundred. I am very frustrated at times, but I buckle down and see what I can do differently. I have added 30 to 45 minute walks now that the weather has gotten better in addition to Wii Step or Just Dance. The FAT HAS TO GO!
  17. I'm sorry you feel this way. I did not see your post, where was it? I try to check often, but I have life happening too. I am one of the great stallers. One pound and then noting, one pound and then nothing, 3 pound out of nowhere. I up cardio, count my carbs, increase Protein and make sure I am getting enough essentail fatty acids. Ie fish oil and Omega 3's. Plenty of my posts had just sat at times. I own my struggles, it is something I need to do rather than blame others. Be accountable to ones self! Count your carbs: should be less than 50 a day. Keep a written record of every morsel that crosses your lips( often you do not realize who much your are taking in with easy or slider foods. When a stall takes hold, take hold back and do some extra cardio, up your liquids and sometimes to reset the clock, go back to the liquid phase and start over!
  18. Well he did it, but he talked only about lap band I went to his web site and left a comment about he the fact he really owes it to the public to review the pros and cons off ALL WL surgeries! I feel his show today did a dis service to public.
  19. Check with your insurance about where to get your blood tests after the fact. I had my drawn in the doctors office and because of the charges I am on the hook for over 600 bucks for the 3 month post op test. I guess had I got it done at a one of the covered hospitals verses he office I would only owe about 200.00.
  20. I had mid back pain under the right shoulder blade till about the 8 week mark, it was especially bad when I had to sit up all day at work. In retrospect I would guess that it was a nerve yelling about swelling or what not of things being different in there now.
  21. Best Wishes and a speedy recovery!

    Truly Amazing and inspiring!
  23. Today has been the first nice day outside since my surgery in November. Before I knew it was that freakin nice out I had done 30 minutes free step on my WII and 20 minutes of just dance. Then we left to go out a lunch/dinner at a Hawaiian restaurant and I could not believe how FANTABLOUS it was out. I actually spent more time at the restaurant thinking about coming home and taking the dogs for a walk! So when we got home I took them and we walked farther than any time every in the last 4 years of living here, then I brought them home and decided that the yard needed to be picked up, so I put on my tennis shoes AND walked to Walgreens about 4 blocks away to by yard waste bags, carried them back the 4 blocks and picked up all the leaves and sticks in the yard, and THEN yes there is a THEN I put out the solar lights around the flower bed and walk ways! I still have energy to spare, no back pain, no sciatica, my hips are not screaming and I am PSYCHED!
  24. My cup size remained the same, I went down a size. I would not suggest ordering too many as things change so rapidly. Mine, like DJ said deflated also
  25. Hi Lisa, I have a knee I injured in JR some 20 years or so ago It has NO cartilage, no acl and huge ball of arthritis on the inside side. I go get cortisone injections and they make a world of difference for me. As for after the weight comes off,, let me tell you, never in my life would I have believed it would make such a huge difference in my pain. I had sciatica so bad that every day I was hurting to tears, my knee ached and did not want to move. My back has not gone out in months now and the sciatica is a distant memory. I have had any knee injections for a year! So YES it makes a world of difference.
