  1. 5 hours! AND i am working an 8 hour shift due to end at 11 tonight. I think I will sleep good!
  2. Oh PS, I am the one in Orange and Grey!
  3. I rode 35 miles today in a bike a thon! me at Tour De Cure!
  4. Congrats! Keep up the AWESOME work!
  5. Doctors are just people with opinions, sometimes not educated ones. My doctor did not have a clue what VSG was and kept pushing the lap band on me. Glad I did my own research. Get your surgery done and then go back and WOW this doc!
  6. Don't fear advancing, just be sure to chew chew chew and go slow. You will be fine and not cause any problems to your new tummy!
  7. I tried it, was not impressed with the flavor. I am currently stuck on Diet Snapple Raspberry tea.
  8. I think it boils down to height/weight ratio and health status. The most important thing is that it allows you to keep it off!
  9. In the Morning I am riding 30 miles in a the Tour De Cure! In celebration of reversing my pre diabetic condition with the sleeve I am riding in honor of those who have diabetes! I AM SO EXCITED! A year ago I would have never even got on a bike, let alone in a bike a thon!
  10. I can say honestly I have ZERO regrets! I am living life and loving it now! It is only a tool, you have to be committed to change and health to make it work for you. For me, I wish I had done it 20 years ago!
  11. Bariatric advantage, premier protien shakes from costco and Maxx... all have under 2 carbs and about 30 grams of protien.
  12. I have not had nausea with my TOM but it has changed a lot since surgery. Pimples, worse, cramps etc. When we loose weight the fat that is burned releases lots of stored estrogen. I hear that it balances back out as the weight loss slows down.
  13. My Nut fully endorses one protein shake a day. If you are using a high quality one, like Bariatric Advantage or similar in ingredients and nutrients it has to be doing some good for us! I am not and never have been a morning eater so my shake saves me, starts my day and my metabolism.
  14. My biggest complication was a noisey stomach! I feel lucky, but I have to say I have had zero issues post VSG and I am a very happy camper!
  15. I know this is in the Man's room, but I thought I might answer you. I would say about 6 weeks I was able to swallow liquids without really thinking "about" it. I am 7 months out now and I still have to watch swallowing liquids when eating. There is only so much room but hey, that is the whole idea of surgery right??? I will take the trade off!
  16. I thought your pictures are eye candy We are our own worst critics!
  17. This is perfectly normal. I wish the docs were more honest about the first 2 weeks but the fact is it easier to say what you "should" do vs what is possible when they preform the surgery but have not actually gone throught it themselves. ( kinda like a guy doctor telling you what you should feel like post hysterectomy or child birth) . Concentrate on liquids, clear and your protien shakes,,, all will be well and check in here often!
  18. OH AND HAVE PLENTY OF GATORADE g2 ON HAND.
  19. Morning,,, Bariatric advantage multi mid morning bariartgic advantage calcum and vit b12 and Linolec acid. with lunch bariatic advantage iron dinner bariatric advantage multi eve snak bariatric advantage multi and mega red krill And yes, you will find it cheaper elswhere! 20. I am down 106 pounds! I have been on this journey since June of 2010. I took off 50 pounds pre surgery and and 56 since Nov 2010. It is getting harder to take off every ounce. With the exception of this board, a couple of co workers and couple of great woman I have met on this board I have done it ALONE and i ultimately responsible for myself. So why this post tonight??? I guess watching Exreem make over, an email from Dr Oz about vanity sizing and Rachel Rays Show today about people who lost " Without going under the knife" I am fed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am married to and extremely obese husband 410 plus and can do more that work and go out to eat in a day, I have recieved only one compliment from him. I am making HIM look bad! F U !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and yes I mean that! I mean really?????? It speaks volumes to the so called US and why he felt safe marrying the fat girl! I have nothing but disgust left as he shovels down a triple bacon cheeseburger and waddles up to bed moaning about the pain he is in.. (Cold b***h or seeing reality for the first time?) Dr. Oz I want to see one of you "healthy shows "following" one of your folks who keep it off. Rachel, what every became of you Teen Kristina????? Nuff Said! Extreme make over tonight,, that kid needs to grow a pair, stop pouting and were is he at now???????????????????????????????????????????????? YES I had surgery! NO it was NOT the easy way out! Yes I need the tool!, YES I had to learn new eating habits! Yes I excersise my ASS off literally! 10 years from now I will be healthy weight wise, where will your folds be Dr. OZ, Rachel, and Extreme makeover???
  21. i would like to prelude my answer with one statement: Getting the sleeve is the only thing in entire 47 years that I was absolutely sure of and never have I wanted anything more in life! With that said, my determination made any inconvenience or discomfort totally worth it! The worst that happened to me? I would say day 2 after they took away my pain pump I had an esouphogeal spasm. It took about 20 minutes to get the nurses to call the Doctor and get an answer and he put me on IV diluaded shots which took care of the spasm. By the next morning the spasm was gone but I felt like someone had used my diaphram as a punching bag. The gas pain everyone talks about was more of an annoyance to me than real pain. I glady accepted discomforts and my liquid diet as part of the process of FINALLY getting healthy! All pain and any nausea where quickly addressed with great meds in the hospital!
  22. i was going to keep things quiet before my surgery and as the date got closer i decided it was just too much like lying for me and consumed too much energy. I decided to be proud for taking charge of my life and just told anyone who would notice my post op diet! I have nothing but support!
  23. Do you use whey Protein drinks? Those drinks in addition to 1200 mg of Calcium daily usually stop me right up!
