so my sleeve was the 21st. the surgery was difficult from previous scare tissue. Post op I had vomiting. Everytime I went to belch I threw up. Remember they put gas in your belly. So the first day I was without any fluids. Stayed an extra day. Fluids went slowly I am almost pain free now. I feel like normal except for some numbness in my belly from the lidocaine or cut nerve endings. which both may take a while to completely go away. I am not taking any narcotics just Toradol IV. I CANT WAIT to go home and get some rest. I may have slept 2 hours straight in two days. I hope you guys are well. My fear has turned into excitement for my new life. be well

    Food Before and After Photos

Sunday brunch out. Needed a break from cooking this week. Tried new excellent restaurant in town porch side. We ordered a sampling feast for plenty of leftovers. Shrimp + slivered cauliflower, date, kale, roasted almond salad with lemon vinaigrette. Classic Cuban sandwich with pineapple aioli. Chicken and red velvet waffles with spicy maple syrup + lemon yogurt. The best meal out in a very long time. I ate two shrimp and ¼ of the salad. Enjoyed the salad, shrimp and some chicken again for Monday's dinner. Hub's been eating the rest. ;]

I have a few suggestions for getting the muscle in the calves to thin out and some suggestions about loose skin. I lost all my weight at one point and had thick calves. I switched to non weight bearing exercises such as a exercise bike with no resistance and gradually the calves thinned out. Regarding loose skin. I swear by body brushing to lessen the loose skin. I went from 250 to 175 once and I used a natural boar bristle brush on my legs and thighs. It helped a lot. I also rubbed cocoa butter on my breasts and thighs daily. I was still loose but it helped. I'm due to have surgery in a few weeks and I have a new body brush and cocoa butter on hand. Good luck. Sent from my SM-A102U using BariatricPal mobile app

Thanks for your responses. To MSWDiet - is that your initials or your degree ? I have an MSW - still working as a social work supervisor in foster care and adoptions. So it is now June, and I am still creeping down the scale - slowly - which has been my plan.... I need to know how to maintain, and how to lose .... something one would think I would have figured out at my age... but I am happy to say that I am at 185 - and feeling really good about it. Of course, now i have to figure out how to get some clothes that fit for going back to work in a few weeks.... and the stores are still closed here. I ordered shorts in 3 sizes from Kohls because mine were falling off... 20,18 and 16. Holy Crap. the 16s fit. My last pair were 2x. Happy to be back down out of plus sizes, and to be feeling strong and healthy.

So mad at myself for regain

Remember your why. Why did you want this back in 2014? For me it was not only my physical looks but other things. I couldn’t bend down and tie my shoes without having to breathe in between. Bending down like that cut off my breath. Another thing and this May be TMI, but I couldn’t hardly wipe my butt when I went potty. I remember sitting on the toilet crying because I couldn’t reach. I couldn’t walk or stand more than just a few minutes without my lower back burning and aching. Diabetes and high blood pressure run in my family. These are my whys. So you’ve gained 40 back. Thank God it’s not the 101, right? Start back with the protein shakes, maybe substitute a meal a day for one and when you’re comfortable with that substitute two meals a day with a shake. I lost 26 pounds in 3 months prior to surgery from that alone. When you want a snack in between, have one. But make it something healthy and filling like a banana or cottage cheese. You’ve done this before. You know what to do. All you have to do now is, just do it. Sending you positive vibes and hopes for your success!!! ❤️

Outfit of the day. I love having girly moments in dresses, but this is what I normally wear.
