And I couldn't be happier! Lost all the weight I wanted to, lost a cpap, lost several chins, lost knee pain, gained confidence, gained a new wardrobe, changed my life! If any of you are struggling - trying to decide to do it, thinking it'll never work, thinking you can't, let me tell you, YOU CAN!!!!! I am rooting for you and am always happy to talk to ANYONE who might need encouragment. I'd post a pic if I knew how...maybe I can do it on the mobile app!!! PS.....My horse is still fat!!!!!

    Missing you

I had to look that up, never heard of it before lol Looks very delish, except the clam juice (highly allergic to clams).

I personally wouldn't do a pouch reset (I've read too many negative things about it) or liquids/protein shakes only - that's pretty hard to sustain for more than a couple of days. Just start eating the way we're supposed to - protein first (60-80 grams a day for most of us), then non-starchy vegetables, and then, if you have any room left, a small serving of fruit or "healthy" carb (like something whole grain). Log everything you eat and be mindful of your overall calories (and calorie range is an individual thing - you may to experiment for awhile to find your "sweet spot"). I agree with the above posters that a support group might be helpful, too... also, some anti-depressants can cause weight gain. I'm not sure about the one you're on, though. If it's one of those that does cause weight gain, maybe check with your doctor to see if there's a different med that might work for you?

    Am I losing my mind...

Treading lightly here because I don't know where you stand culturally\religiously BUT If I'm being honest the things I highlighted leap out to me as very controlling. Now that control is being lost you may begin to see a whole host of issues arise- none of which are your fault or can be fixed by you. My advice is to carefully and calmly watch while continuing on your path of health and happiness. The rest will end up as it should. Good Luck 💚

Foods you can no longer tolerate

I’m not sure I agree with this assessment by the nutritionist. Most people got to be obese by eating many non-healthy foods. For some, “new foods” might comprise healthy food they’ve never tried. I think trying out new healthy foods is smart, to replace poor choices, and a broad variety of options probably makes weight loss more sustainable. My current staple foods include a few things I’d never had before surgery. Perhaps the nutritionist was talking about unhealthy choices?

    I NEED THIS SURGERY

I agree. Please do your research and be wary of any practice in Mexico that charges less than $4600 USD. Ask for certifications and accreditations for both the Surgeon and the Hospital. These are fairly easy to confirm online. Look for surgeon accreditations like FACS, ASMBS, SRC Surgeon of Excellence and SRC Master Surgeon in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. As for the Hospital. Make sure it is a FULL-Service Hospital and not a clinic or surgery center. Clinics and surgery centers are not equipped to handle serious complications. Their accreditations and certifications include SRC Center of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, as well as Local, State and Federal certifications.
