    Moderation Isn't For Me!

Dont get worked up over other peoples ignorance. Its a complicated world we live in. Every situation is diff. Thats why its so hard for people to understand. Bodies are different, minds are different . And it goes on.. and like lucie said " know your limitations." ..

    Hunger No More...

Hunger. I have NONE. My entire life I've been hungry. I just could never say no to seconds or thirds and lord help me if it was one of my favorite foods or desserts. I always failed at diets because I would work out then come home starving and always over it (even it was super healthy food). Today, I'm 7 days post op, and I HAVE NO hunger. I'm dealing with a bit of stomach acid, but the moment I take my antacid medication the grumbling disappears. Hate to say this is a miracle, but for me- this is absolutely life changing to wake up and not be starving. Hallelujah.

    Hunger No More...

It may change, you might begin to feel some kind of hunger in a couple months but it is NOTHING..I repeat NOTHING like it was before. It turns from a lion to kitten and it doesnt really feel like hunger, more like...a small empty feeling that can be forgotton if you dont keep a schedule..It is a nice feeling...ENJOY.

    Hunger No More...

Dimeekie, WOW that has to be a wonderful feeling! I am so looking forward to that feeling... I feel like a bottomless pit...the only time I can remember not being hungry is when I was taking appetite suppressants!!! Just to wake up and not be overcome with hunger would be a miracle to me too! Wishing you the best of success on your journey. Blannie

Your journey will present challenges every day...and emotionally if you are strong enough to meet them it will enhance your success with weight loss. Best wishes as you begin your journey...

First Blog Entry... 6 Days Post Op!

I was terrified of this journey- as any sane normal person would be... but I was out before I knew what hit me and when I woke up I lift up my hospital gown because I didn't believe them when they said it was done. HOLY smokes! It was easier than getting my wisdom teeth out! THey kept me well drugged and I just chilled in bed and watch'd tv. I was so anxious I had a hard time sleeping but the team was amazing to me. Jessica the nurse and everyone where just fantastic. I've never had a doctor and his team treat me that well for that many days. No regrets... only wish I'd done it sooner!

Rahrah.... you just described over half the situation on this LB site. My husband was one of the ones that sabotaged my diet efforts in the past and still does to this day. He is 6'4" and has no weight problem. Will eat and i'm not kidding a half gallon in one sitting and not gain anything. Yesterday he polished off half bag of oatmeal cookies and 1/4 bag of Oreos.... then was still hungry and ate a plate of Pad-ti noodles. They want you to be thin, but are afraid of you finding some one else. He makes commits all the time about me wanting to find other men. I tell him, if i wanted another man i could have one and could have had one at 223lbs. A lot of relationships don't survive WLS. The "other" person usually can't handle the attention that they are getting now that the weight has come off. my average was 2lb a month..... but i don't care. i now weight 145 and i'm happy and i feel great.... And so will you....
