thats so stupid wow... as far as hydration. Google in your area IV Therapy. and see if anyone offers it. In my area several companies offer IV hydration. You pay and get the IV bag and you can have vitamins and other things added to it. The ones that put the IV in your arms are all RN's I have been wanting to go to one here soon. I am 6 months post op and i still struggle to get in more than 40 oz of water a day. Below is a picture of the menu offered at my local hydration center. yours will differ. Basically we choose the IV Bag, add however many vitamins in it we want and thats it.

    Ring Size?!

It makes sense to wait until the weight stabilizes. I'm struggling with clothes now as I have to buy new ones almost every other month. I can't do the same with my wedding ring tho. I will keep the old one and just get another fitting one. Maybe do it next year for our 10th wedding anniversary 😀

    4 weeks down!

Hi! Just a little update 4 weeks after my RNY. I'm 43, have lupus and gained a lot of weight after 3 years of steroids. The extra weight adds more complications to my disease and I have really struggled to lose it on my own. I was 309 before surgery, 295 day of and currently at 278. I'm 5'8" and have always been a bigger woman with my lowest weight at 215. But at that weight I was very active, fit and healthy... until I got sick. This has not been an easy process for me and I was really losing my mind at the 3 week mark. But after week 4, I'm finally feeling a little more energy and a little more human. Some things I didn't really expect: I've become lactose intolerant. I sometimes get sick (nausea and crampy) after just sipping water. And I use the restroom much more frequently than I did before, which makes me a little nervous to socialize and even more nervous to travel. I hope this gets better! Other than that, I'm learning that slow progress is still progress! And I've already discontinued 2 of my lupus related meds, so I know I made the right choice! If anyone is having a hard time, I hope this helps.. it WILL get better!

    No medical support

I did Google that. Thank you for the idea but unfortunately there are none in my area, u do live in a small country town so that probably has alot go do with it but next time I'm out by one I'll definitely try that Sent from my SM-G996U using BariatricPal mobile app

    Slowing down?

pretty much, my weight loss slowed at the at the 6 month mark then at the 10 month mark I dropped 2 kg then it stopped. my lowest weight was 1 week off my 1 year mark but I have since put on 2 kg

    September surgery buddies!!

How long did it take everyone to meet their protein goals? I am 4 days post op and STRUGGLING. I'm hitting my fluids no problem, but I'm getting maybe 20 grams of the recommended 60 and it's starting to stress me out. I have no desire to eat anything, so I'll force myself to choke down a small amount of soup... and then I feel so icky and stuffed that the thought of eating that particular thing again makes me incredibly nauseated. I'm only on liquids for 3 more days after today, and I'm hoping that moving to a wider variety of foods will make it easier to hit my protein because right now, it's yoghurt and protein shakes... which I never want to see again in my life.

    August 24!

Got my final drain out 1.5 weeks after surgery. Having issues with the drain spot however, as the hole isn’t in any hurry to close up on its own. Doctor wasn’t sure if the area was infected or if it was irritated so we have me on an antibiotic now just in case. That was four days ago, really hoping that drain hole closes up soon. 😖 Other than that I’m doing great, I feel fine on a daily basis. Sleeping propped up in my back is probably the worst part. I’m a side sleeper and this is not an easy transition. That plus my abdominal binder is just making for a great sleeping experience haha.
