    Advice and encouragement

Many people think they are a "slow loser" but in fact they just have unrealistic expectations from shows like My 600 Lb Life, which features people who lose "fast" because they are much bigger than your average WLS patient. You may still be a slow loser; I can't tell how much of your 33 lb weight loss was before surgery, but I lost about 9 lbs on average per month for the first 6 months after surgery, and my surgery center said I was doing great! Try to focus on things you can control, like eating and drinking and exercising the way your surgery center recommended, and don't worry about the scale. You might also focus on how your clothes fit or other "non-scale victories". You might also consider reaching out to your surgery center to make sure you're on track, and consider seeing a bariatric therapist. Good luck!

    I can’t drink enough liquids

Lizonaplane covered all the suggestions of ways to get more down. If you can’t and you do start to see signs of dehydration your doctor should be able to arrange for you to get fluids as an out patient. Still Not ideal but at least it’s better than another hospital bill.

Be patient, take your vitamins and eat your protein. The vitamins and protein won't stop the hair loss, but it is good for when it comes back. Which it will. I lost so much hair but it is now growing out.

    6 weeks post op depressed

Can anyone give me some encouragement that I will find happiness in life again? I feel so blah at the moment and I can’t find joy anywhere in my life. Has anyone experienced this? I am usually the positive person in the world and my personality has completely changed. Please give me some insight that this will change. I’ve only lost 17 lbs on top of it all.

Other than chop off all my hair to a pixie cut around 3 months post, absolutely nothing. New growth started sprouting around 6 months post, and by 2 years post all those chicken hairs were the same length as the rest of my hair which i was regularly trimming (my hair was just below chin length by then) Good Luck!❤️

    Any July buddies?

I am scheduled for July 7th. I am now doing my 2 week preop meal. I have one problem, 3 days ago on Thursday 6/23, I came down with covid. Feels more like a head cold or sinus issue. I tried calling my doctor on Friday, but no response. I have been eating per meal requirements and drinking plenty of fluids. I more felt like it was the flu. I did a home test and it showed positive. I am sure they are going to push back my surgery and I am so disappointed, I have been working on this since 2019. Two hospitals , 2 doctors later and change of insurance and not to mention I saved and I am now paying cash. I should o expect the delay to be?? Has anyone had this issue. I know my lungs are clear I am using the spiral meter the think you suck air and hold ball in place. I have been rubbing on Vicks. I have been resting a lot and taking it easy.
