Can anyone help me figure out what this means? They said that bariatrics are included with our new insurance but this makes no sense to me. I’ve called insurance and all they did was read it to me and can’t explain it any further. I have calls into places to meet with surgeons but don’t want to get my hopes up if this isn’t going to happen. Thanks in advance.
I can’t find anywhere that lists what is covered and when I called the insurance they couldn’t tell me either, they just kept rereading the passage above.
I too am finding that I have cravings for the unhealthy foods I love. I don't keep those foods in the house - my husband's diabetic so we wouldn't have them in for him either, which makes it far easier to resist the cravings. I'm aware however that part of this is that mentally I feel I'm still "dieting" i.e. not at my goal weight. Once (hopefully) I reach goal weight I know I'm going to find it really difficult not to fall back into old habits. I need to deal with this. Thanks for your post which helps me know it's not just me who struggles.
Thank you for your honest sharing. It will help many here. It's a struggle and so much of our eating problems are emotional and mental health related (boredom, stress, anxiety, depression, worry) that counseling really helps.
Welcome to the groups. I am excited too. My surgery is scheduled for Jan 12th. I am on my fun pre-op diet. I am on my 3rd day and it hasn't been fun. However, It is all going to be worth it in the end, which is actually only the beginning of our brand new journey of eating and living.. congrats
I had a distinct drop in energy about 3 months out. Just so damn tired. Almost fell asleep walking on my treadmill!
I don’t have any answers unfortunately. Some say it’s the lack of carbs in our diets. Some say it’s just our body getting used to the reduced calories & increasing activity. It could be your iron levels as you suspect.
My iron levels were very good & I ate rolled oats a couple of times a week, so .... It eventually passed. Mind you I slept really well at night & I’d been a bad sleeper for years.
