    November 2020 sleevers

Hi everyone! I also joined the looser bench! Surgery at 1130 pm. Surgery took about an hour. But stayed in recovery untill 5.30 pm. I was really tired after the anasthisia and so neauseas. So yesterday was rough. But feeling better today. Sipping on my water. Might have to stay an extra day here. But surgery went well and my blood work looks fine. Thank you all for your support! Stomach pain

This ^. Your insides will take about 4-6 weeks to heal. Your soft tissues are still "knitting" together properly and you may have some small adhesions that are sorting themselves out.

    November 2020 sleevers

I am packed, Jewellery off, and family contacted. We did all the bloodwork the week before last. I just check in at 11 with Surgery at 1pm. I have been "nesting" for the last 3 weeks so I have a very clean house and have set up some light Christmas projects to do shortly after the surgery. My husband will be working from home so I'm good with that. My 19 year old daughter (my youngest ) took next week off to come and keep me company. I Work with handicapped adults and am off for 6 weeks but I have asked to still do all the administrative work, like monthly financials and such. They will call all the time so I'll feel connected. I'm from the Saskatoon area of Saskatchewan in Canada. Tomorrow we have to drive the 3 hours it takes to get to where the surgery will take place, They do the Surgeries on Mondays and we get discharged on Thursdays as ready as I will ever be and excited beyond belief. I have been on Protein drinks and clear fluids for the last 2 weeks, which was a lot easier than I expected. It was the same when I quit smoking, I got the call to enter the program on a Friday and I quit on Sunday, no issues. I want to know where all this was before I entered the program ...lol I think/hope I'm ready. I'm starting to get a little freaked out, not about having surgery, but about how this is permanent change. I'm packed, charging up my devices, and ready to go in the morning. I'm lucky that my surgery is at 09:30, so I won't have to wait too long and ponder too much. LOL. Good luck to everyone tomorrow! Sent from my SM-T710 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Surgery in my 20’s

I completely agree with The Greater Fool above. It's not a matter of whether you are too young to have the surgery, but whether you have the right mindset and are ready to commit to a new way of eating for life. Some people in their 20's are ready, while some in their 50's are not. You have a tremendous opportunity by taking this step so early in your life, before you have developed a host of medical issues connected with obesity. You have the chance to enjoy a long and health life with bariatric surgery. Take advantage of it!

    Revision date set!

Welcome to the forum. I wish you the best possible outcome in December. I had a similar experience with a sleeve and weight regain. I chose the Loop DS (SADI-S), got it done in May, and have had great results! I advise you to forget all your past food preferences. Start over and build a long term nutrition plan that you will follow life long. This should include everything your nutritionist recommends. You will find new foods you will look forward to eating. When you go through your doctor mandated stages, only introduce foods in your new written plan.

Oh yeah, that first time you overeat is not pleasant. But it does help to reinforce the eat slowly rule. I still ask myself if I really need the next bite, not that I just want it or am eating out of habit. I tell myself: put the cutlery down & push the plate away. To make things even more difficult you may find your tummy just can’t tolerate certain foods or that some foods make you feel full more quickly than others. I had a spoonful of mashed potato a few weeks back & it sat like a lump in my tummy for ages. Good luck on your journey. It can be a roller coaster of experiences but so rewarding.
