A POSITIVE GLOWING STORY of success

ALERT: his new name is New&Improved. He changed his name every time we acknowledged his arrogance. From Mikeyy to Mike666, to Superman84, to MIKEYY84.

    Hi, noob reporting in!!

I had gotten all the way to 57 without ever having surgery or being in hospital. Neither were as terrible as I thought they would be!

I had a sleeve and hernia repair done and then 45 days later had hardware removed from my knee. I would have the one that takes the longest to recover from first and then do the next one while still on leave. My bariatric surgeon wanted to wait 6 weeks after hardware removal to do my sleeve but I was able to reschedule the hardware to later as the recovery time for that was only a couple weeks.

yes - it'll stop - and then many of us bounce back up 10-20 lbs a few months later. So you may just look like Olive Oyl for a few months. If it's really worrying you, you can always come up a bit on calories - but keep in mind that most of us do have that 10-20 lb rebound

Yeah, that sucks! On a good note, I started following my dietician’s recommendations by increasing my calories and sure enough, me not eating enough was the issue. I finally broke my 2.5 week stall and dropped 2 pounds overnight. Now that I’ve tackled that problem, I need to increase my fiber to help with constipation. Currently using Dulcolax.

    Hunger/Cravings After Surgery

I am in my 5th month and I still don’t get hungry. I have to make myself eat... I take in about 600 - 650 calories a day. I weigh out my food, as not to be full.

I can understand what you are going through. I've been at the same weight for the past 5 days and was freaking out. I'm so happy to have found this forum. Just knowing that I'm not alone gives me motivation to stay the course. We can do this. Don't give up!

    JUNE 2020 BYPASSERS

Nurse called to check on me post op. Asked me if I’d had a bowel movement yet. I tell her no. She says I need to take Milk of Magnesia because they want me to still have bowel movement even though I’m on a liquid diet. Wake up in the middle of the night in a sea of diarrhea in my bed all over my new white bed sheets and blanket. One of the most disgusting things I’ve ever experienced. If you are going to take Milk of Magnesia, take it first thing in the morning. Do not take in the afternoon or early evening. If you do, you might just literally shit the bed.
