    "5 more days.." is the phrase I've been telling myself on repeat for a few hours now.. I swear my whole neighborhood is making BBQ today! It smells so good. I am ready for some real food!! 😩

    Perhaps ask the surgery if the risks of another surgery outweigh the benefits at this point & what percentage of these situations resolve themselves vs requires emergency surgery Good Luck ❤

    We live in a tiny apartment for the two of us. My office is located in the living room, which is connected to the dining room and kitchen. I smell everything. It would be a hard task for him to cook while I am not near. I also acknowledge the fact that it's simply not fair to him that he has to go through what I am going through. I had hoped he would be a bit more sensitive to what I am dealing with, but as many have said, this is something I need to get through on my own. He and I have both talked in a calmer matter now, though. There won't be anymore snacking in our bedroom. For the rest of these two weeks, he will eat more of the 'quick things' we have in the house (sandwiches, etc) instead of cooking or he can grab fast food and eat in his car. I still wish that I could have ignored it altogether. I had got so emotional over the smell of fried food and it makes me really feel disgusting. I thought I was doing great until yesterday when I lost my **** over it.

    I'm leaning towards @Deemar007's response. It will be more beneficial for you now and in the long run to take on the weight loss journey yourself, vs. relying on others to adjust their habits to accommodate your chosen lifestyle. If you can succeed without the need for others to change, your successes will be in YOUR control, and theoretically be longer lasting. I know this is easier said than done. Especially since you are only 3 days post op. The first week or so is the hardest. If you can, take the time and make the effort to sustain lasting change, you WILL NOT regret it. P.S. Though I do also agree with the other poster that it wouldn't hurt to ask him not to bring sandwiches to bed. He can chose to decline your request, but I would think it's a fair request...I mean, even just from a hygiene and bug potentiality perspective... Good Luck!

    I just rejoined the page yesterday. I read through many forums which are great! I wanted to add one to see if it can inspire me to be more successful in my preop and postop weight loss. As we all know the journey is hard just to decide to go through the process .for the surgery in the first place. What have you thought or started doing to help your life change to lose weight and keep it off? They say it takes 21 days to rewire the mind to break a habit. Today I am started with not eating after 8pm.

    11 Days Post Op plateau

    I've stayed at 175lbs (down from 192) for over 2 weeks now... It is frustrating, but I have googled and found a lot of people have stalls in the first few weeks as your body is adjusting. I will say - this is why I had the surgery. Earlier in the year - I dieted and got down to 178 and stalled for 10 days or so and finally gave up. So that keeps creeping in the back of my mind. I am trying to stay positive though.

    Don't beat yourself up. Freaking out in some way or another is very normal in the first few weeks. It will get much easier as you move towards eating more normal food. I'm 3 months out now, and my husband and I eat together sometimes, and separately other times. When we eat together, I just eat much smaller portions with more of the protein and vegetables and less of the carbs. Recently I've been able to add in very normal foods that I find tasty - like steak and salads - just in much smaller portions. We even made pizza together this weekend - he just ate 5 times as much as me, and I ate an egg before I ate my slice. 😂 The only thing I still consider completely off-limits is sugar (except for fruit).

    I decided I will lactic acid ferment raw veggies all summer in mason jars. Same nutrition as raw plus get Lactobacillus and easier to digest. pickles, kimchi, carrots, cauliflower, peppers, tomatoes, almost any raw veggie. No canning.     I was approved. I was also told that United Health is usually very good about approving. So if it’s minimal gain and your on the low end, I think you’ll be fine. Sorry for the late response!!!
