I wish I had info for you. I have Anthem BCBS and had to go thru all kinds of tests with cardiologist, pulmonologist, nutritionists, psychiatrist and 6 months of dr supervised weight loss.

    Name Game...

Lol. I didn’t name it, but my hubby has been talking to it since the pre-op diet made it noisy. That was “Pouchy” and Post-op it switched to “Tubey.” I’m only a week out, so not sure how long their relationship will last, but seems to be quite chatty between the two of them.

    How to lose weight pre-op?

I lost 28 pounds pre-op most of that like 24 pounds was before the 14 day liquid diet which I only made it about 9 days with full liquids. I feared that liquid diet like the devil. So I started eating less about 3 months prior to surgery. I started having protein shakes for breakfast and lunch (ensure max protein) and I would only eat dinner. Now when I got hungry at times during the day I would have a banana or cottage cheese. Once you put your mind to it, you can do it! Good luck on your journey!

Premier protein is very highly regarded. Unjury ready to drink is what I have used from day one. No aftertaste

    July 2019 Surgery Siblings Post-Op

As far as diet goes, i stuck to a good plan and for the first six months i had a protein shake for breakfast and lunch with a couple of protein based "snacks" (cheese stick, a serving of jerky..etc) and then for dinner it would be some kind of meat and veggie. The weight will come off regardless. i wasnt try to do it fast, Ive just become obsessed with the gym and working out. I started crossfit two weeks after surgery and i havent stopped. I also took up running. Just ran a half marathon two sundays ago. I wanted to get a good relationship with working out because i know the honey moon phase will end and i can eat more eventually. So, i know if i continue to exercise and add good foods to my diet ill be successful in the long run. So i guess the way i did it, is by relearning the true value in food and by setting up a plan for the rest of my life. I cant believe how fast time has gone. Im loving every second of it tho. I have days where i feel down when everyone at the house is snacking or everyone at my office is celebrating with beer and pizza. But then i look in the mirror and remember i use to hate who was looking back at me. And now every time i see myself i almost chuckle a little bit. Like thats actually you dude. Where im at today was well worth skipping the cake and pizza. But dont get me wrong, once in a while you gotta try a thing or two or youll go insane. lol Find that balance and live there. SOrry for the long response.

Your desire for this food is very apparent, you are asking an emotional question - not a nutritional one. Right now your mind needs to realize that it will never be the same again, unless you want to ruin the surgery. Your body needs nutrition, so work within the guidelines to simulate Asian food, use the spices and vegetables and some chicken. Pasta - no, a couple bites here and there, but it isn't that appealing and feels too heavy. You can still have the sauce and meatballs. I suspect you are missing chewing this texture too. All of us had to face the food funeral. You are among friends here, so don't be rude to sleevers, they are trying to help.

8 oz of Ricotta cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan 1 large Egg, beaten 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning salt & pepper to taste 1/2 cup Marinara Sauce 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese 3 Zucchini sliced long ways put a layer of the zucchini down Layer the cheeses, sauce and zucchini like making a lasagna. Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 375 for about 35 minutes . I have a foodi also and have made it in that. Very good stuff.
