    I lost 100 lbs!!!!

It has happened!! I lost 100 lbs! 313 to 213! To celebrate, I got a new tattoo, not a Thanksgiving type meal I normally would have given myself as a reward. Such a great feeling, but now on those last 53 lbs.... I have my next goals, but what are my next rewards? What do you reward yourself with when you meet goals, weight or otherwise? Let me hear them, let me hear your latest accomplishments!

    Iron Saturation Dropping?

After bariatric surgery my iron levels dropped so I began taking iron supplements. I was told by my nutritionist to take ferrous sulfate as an iron supplement for the best absorption. Also it is important to give a 2 hours separation between iron and calcium.

This reminds me of the story about a hospital bill for giving birth where the husband was charged $20 to hold HIS baby 😂

This board is full of people that surpass the averages. Fingers crossed that we can join them, Fluff. I like to have a solid, realistic goal.. and when I get there, then move the bar lower. Who knows.. maybe we'll be thrilled with 170 or 180! Lol. What I don't want to do is convince myself that 150 will come easily, then beat myself up if I don't get there. Keep in mind, the nadir weights on that chart are at 28 months postop on average.. so weight can continue coming off for well over a year postop.

I am a medical professional and I would say to stay away from the traditional BMI chart. It does not take into consideration body type or percent of lean muscle. I use the meter my trainer has which tells me I am at 23% body fat. That might sound like a big number but professional athletes and marathon runners are in the teens, so take that into consideration and I will go with it.

    Iron Saturation Dropping?

I had my pre op labs drawn in april (super early bc im inpatient) and my iron saturation was "low" at 12% no big deal, started taking the iron +vit c barimelts to get in a good routine for post op. Went last week to get redrawn and low and behold my iron saturation dropped to 8%? Everything else comes back "normal". Should I be worried? Anyone else have this pro orpost op?
