Try not to obsess about the scale (easier said than done, I know) Worry more about hitting fluid goals, protein goals, walking goals, getting good sleep at night and staying active. The number on the scale isn't the focus....creating solid lifetime habits and taking good care of yourself...is. If you get the habits right...the scale will follow:) Best wishes!

    Preparation

Critically important. The surgery fixes your stomach...not your head. If your head isn't straight you can easily make the surgery pointless.

    Extra protein

I bought tons of the different protein from this site and it’s really helpful for liquid diet stage. I’m moving and past that part and want to gift it to someone needing help!

Thank you! I'm sure I'll have more questions as it gets closer. I am ok but then at times I get terrible anxiety so that's my issue now but hearing people who have made it through the surgical process helps for sure. The hospital and surgeon I am having it at use nerve/pain blocker shots so idk if I'll have morphine but for sure if I need it I'll take it lol.

I've already posted in the before and after thread. I thought I do a separate thread. Today is my first surgiversary! I've been in a 3 month stall. With RNY, I accomplished my loss without any strenuous exercise (due to a heart condition). I'm 25lbs away from goal weight and I feel great! HW: 334 SW: 319 CW: 205 GW: 180

Thanks so much for your words of wisdom. For now, my SO is on board with our new eating plan. He's even mentioned how convenient it is having everything planned out, eliminating the need for making dinner plans daily! I'm anticipating he will get bored sooner or later, and when that time comes, I will certainly remember your great advice. I hope to one day find a dynamic that works like you and your wife have. As far as restriction, when I eat correctly- protein first, I certainly feel limited. I can usually only finish 4oz protein and 4-5 bites of veggies/carbs. If I'm eating carbs only, I seem to be able to fit much more! As compared to right after surgery when eating bread of any kind made me vomit, that seems to be the only difference. I don't feel like my sleeve has stretched much if at all.
