    Normal BMI this Morning!

]I am so excited this morning! I hit a normal BMI of 24.9 (145 lbs). That's a place I haven't been in 11 years. I want to thank all of you for your patience, your kindness, your honesty, your emotional support because I would have, at various points, despaired of the process, the "toad froth", the stalls, the crazy eating. SO, 13 lbs to goal, and my goal date is 5/3/18. I see my doc on 1/15/18 to see what he thinks my GW should be based, on the Fit3D scan which unfortunately shows fat, muscle & skin. I say unfortunate because the image is sooo creepy. (Like that little dancing baby meme that came out in the 90's). Thank goodness your facial features are indistinct! Any way, just a little overwhelmed to reach a goal that felt unachievable back in August when I was bawling my face off about my health. No angina, free of 14 prescriptions, a total cholesterol of 99, and trigylcerides of 93! Best I've felt in 15 years! And it was NOT the easy way, as we all know. Thank you, each & every one. Looking forward to the rest of the journey, and being a faithful maintenance person,

I own it. Doll myself up at work. Walk down the hallways like it's a runway and when ppl compliment how good I look or say wow you have lost so much weight. I say THANK YOU! I've lost 51lbs. I'm awesome right?! lol I just own it. I am more confident and proud of how much i've lost and how i'm looking these days! Obviously, everyone is different and others are shy or uncomfortable because we've hid from everyone and ourselves for so long in our old bodies. But now is the time to practice self love and own that you look great! xo

    Let the count down begin!!!

I have thirteen days until my surgery. Started the pre op diet yesterday. It’s going good so far but man the bathroom runs are a killer lol. Just checking to see if anyone has the same timeline as me. I’m super excited, a little nervous. I’m glad I found this community. I stayed up most of last night reading it was eye opening. I downloaded this really cool app called Baritastic. Pretty freaking awesome. Please share your pots and your peaks with me so we can make this journey more amazing. β€œI can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

    Struggling with aversion

Drink some regular milk then. Maybe some medication for anxiety. And get some counseling.

    Random stomach noises

I'm 8 months out and mine still makes a lot of noise after I eat. When I'm in quiet places like work I try to eat very light to minimize it.

Thank you so much for posting. I needed to hear this from someone who has had the same surgery as me. I had the lap band for almost 8 years and then the bypass. I feel like I can anything at any volume too. I have to measure my food or I would overeat. I do not regurgitate my food as well. In fact, I was feeling something was wrong with me. I will be 3 weeks out tomorrow and I am not losing much. I am hoping for a soon loss in the coming weeks (only 8 lbs down). Please continue to post, it really encourages me.

Hi Brenda - I am 4 weeks out, and eating salad. I do steam spinach quickly or else the leaves stitch a little, but cucumber, bell peppers, zucchini, marrow, tomatoes - good chew and they are good. Not great volumes post surgery - once I eat my protein there isn’t huge room left!

Have him read through this thread and other posts on these forums. There are HUNDREDS upon hundreds of personal accounts of positive experiences with surgery in Mexico. As previously stated in this post, I have been to Mexico for surgery twice and both times I had great experiences and received excellent care.

    1. Complications - I experienced none. I have had some pain on and off on my left side but that normally has happened after I have overdone it. I had surgery on the 7th and was back to work on the 12th... i have been really tired but have taken it easy and spent weekends on the couch. 2. Clean and Safe? - Yes. Hospitals and clinics in Mexico are clean and safe. I had no complaints, there was always a nurse with me or a dr, they were constantly cleaning the clinic. I had a nurse assigned just to me and great care. i was move to their recovery house. There i also had amazing care. The dr came and checked me out and there was a dr that spent the night in the recovery house if i needed anything. 3. How did you convince your family? - I didn't. The only person that knows i did this was my husband. He wasnt thrilled but i just did it. I needed to make a change and this is for myself. 4. General Experience - i would recommend Long Term VSG to any of my friends and i have no regrets. Painful um YES! my stomach was killing me when i woke up.. but they give you painkillers. Having the drain pulled out is a blessing and a curse, super painful when pulled out but it stopped a lot of the pain i was feeling from having it in, once it was out. I am exhausted easy but i am also barely eating. I do get all my Protein and Water in and that is key if you dont you will be hurting. I also am not rushing foods.. i ate plenty to get me here.. I am on day 21 and counting!! Goodluck
