    Stressed!

I browse Pinterest for healthy recipes! I also lurk on bariatric pal and reply to every post I can. Trying to support others. Also I will eat a sf popsicle of in really needing to munch. We keep at least 2 boxes on hand- that way I get liquids and my sweet fix . So far I haven't had more than 3 in one day. Usually 1. Mich W Hw 223, SW 217 CW 200 GW 135

    1 Month on Optifast 800

Through a separate weight loss program, I did Optifast 800 for 4 months total, 5 shakes or meal bars a day with nothing else! Had great success with it, lost 90 pounds in that 4 months. However, once it was over, the weight came back quickly. So here I am LOL. Stick with it though, I found that after about the second week your body really adjusts to the lower calorie intake. Just drink more water and you should be alright!

    Energy levels after VSG?

How are your energy levels in the weeks and months after surgery? I have a very busy fall and I'm worried about having the energy to get my work done. My options are surgery in early August with 2.5 weeks off (but liquid diet for the week of extended family vacation) or mid-August with 1.5 weeks off (still requires a few days of liquid diet on vacation) or wait until next summer, which I don't want to do. My job can be stressful. I can take some half days but I also have some required long days. But if I have to be on the liquid diet during the whole vacation, I will have to tell my whole family and I might be cranky. So my questions are: Will having an extra week to recover help me start back full throttle? So much so that it's worth being on the liquid diet during the whole vacation? How will my energy levels be after a few weeks and months? How long before you could work long days with decent energy?

    Weigh Gain

go back to the basics. Eat protein first, then non-starchy vegetables. Then if you have room, fruit or complex carbs (like grains). No drinking until at least 30 minutes after you eat. Weigh, measure, and log everything you put in your mouth. Unfortunately, it's the only way..
