A couple weeks ago, I hit my pre-op weightloss goal and recived my sugery date with the understanding that it was pending insurance approval. As of today, I had not heard from the center or my insurance company. One phone call later and I was informed that not only am I approved by insurance but that I'm the first on the list for my surgeon. Um, this just got real and I think I may have wet my pants a little. LOL Excited. Nervous. Butterflies everytime I think about it.

    Surgery on the horizon

Jim-that is so sweet, I could cry. I think doing something like this together is so much easier. No more junk food to tempt you with. Congratulations Kelli!!!

Well I do......surgery!! I swear I never thought this day would come, how in the world I didn't lose my mind I don't know. But now, how in the world am I going to keep this smile off my face, oh wait I don't have too! For all those people who may read this and think, what I wouldn't give to me her, to have a date to know it is my turn, you will be here. Don't give up no matter what comes your way just do what you have to get to surgery. I already know it is worth it.

I enjoyed reading your story. When I met with my original surgeon, long story, I said I felt like a failure because I needed the Band! She said I was not a failure but I was helping myself with a tool. She was right. I love my tool. I love no more 'fat stores'. I can fit into booths in restaurants and no longer have to ask for table and chairs. I can keep up with my grandsons. Don't think that getting the band means you are a failure and need help. We all need help everyday. In other ways. By the way, did you ever model? good luck with your choice. Maybe go to the support meetings with your husband. I go every month and most of the time my husband comes with me for support.

    SLEEP APNEA

I was diagnosed with severe apnea last September. I have been using a BiPap with a pressure of 20/16. Now it's one year later and and I have a surgery date of 9/5 for my gastric bypass. The test is a pain but worth it. Sleep apnea (severe) is life threatening. we'll overcome it and the weight. I give you credit for facing up to what you have to do at such a young age. I hope to hear good things from you in future posts:)

    I hate fake people!

You sound like the real deal, and from my experience you are an endangered species. Hold your head up, and continue to be true!
