Forever in my heart... Jeter

Recommended Posts

For those of you that were around 5 months ago, you might remember my problems with Jeter. The time came. Jeter died at 3:10pm today. It was a peaceful silent death and I held him as we helped him die at the vet's office. This is breaking my heart as I feel as if I have lost a piece of me. I know he lives on forever in my heart but I miss him terribly. The friendship, the love, the trust and the strength of him amazes me. I have often wonder why people are incapable of giving the same type of love that a dog gives us.

Thank you for all of the love and support you all gave me when he first became ill.

My friend will be missed. Our family will mourn. And a part of him will be with me forever.

Oh Jenna, I'm so sorry, but it sounds like he went peacefully. I know it hurts, but you also did the right thing. ((((hugs))))

I truly feel for you dear. My dog is like a furry child and best friend rolled into one. They truly become a part of the family. Another hug sent your way.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I'm also someone who sees and feel that my pets are my children. I have had to put a very beloved dog to sleep but as hard as it was, I couldn't bear to see her suffer, she didn't deserve that. I have found that keeping a picture in a place you can see it frequently as you move around your house can be helpful. I lost my girl two years ago and I still tell her I love her and miss her and everynight I tell her good night. They truly do steal a part of our hearts and again I am very sorry you have to go through this loss, but agree with Crystal, you did what needed to be done with love in your heart.

Jenna- I am truely sorry for your loss of Jeter.

What a magical & human face!

I know your pain.

I still cry over Gunnar & say goodnite to him every nite.

May time be your friend & Jeter visit you often in your dreams.

I am so, so sorry to hear this. Many of us here have had to help our most favorite friends (our pets) out of thier misery.

It is so very hard. It still brings tears to my eyes. Of course you did the right thing - but that doesn't really help you with the grief you feel right now.

Time is a wonderful salve on a wounded soul.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
