Looking for someone who had surgery in April 09. I had mine on April 03 and have lost 58 lbs. I have been at a stand still with my weight. I had a loss of 1 lb in Oct and 1 lb in November. I did not have a fill in Sept and received 1cc on Oct 22. When I went back Nov 30 the doctor didn't think I needed a fill. This has been very depressing for me lately. I really wanted to haVE SOME RESTRICTION FOR THE HOLIDAYS. I think I have 5-6 cc in a 10 cc band. I'm intrested in seeing how much weight that others have lost that had their surgery in April. I started out at 283 and lost 20 of the 58-2 weeks before surgery.

I really think that you have made tremendous progress and have nothing to be stressed out over!

I was banded on 4/1/09. I have been hovering around the same weight since August despite the working out and eating right. And my band could not have been made any tighter. Just this week the scale started to move again and I've been losing. I've learned to focus more on doing the right things as far as diet and exercise and to be patient. I know it's hard to do especially when the weight fell off quickly and easily at first but the band will work! Hang in there!

Best wishes for continued success.

You have done great! Look at what you done before the surgery. That's a real accomplishment. I've started exercising more this week so hopefully the exercise will give me a jump start to losing again.

I was banded on 4/7/09 and only lost 50 lbs. It has been a struggle for me I work so hard to get little result. My doctor thinks I'm doing well considering I only have 3.50 cc in my band. It appears that the band is still tight n he will not give me a fill until it loosen up. I have manage to lose slowly but it has been a struggle. Sometime I feel like giving up bc I can eat a pretty good amount of food. I need restriction soon my next appt is Jan 18 hope I can make it.

I had surgery On April 22, 2009 and have lost 44 pounds. Of course I wish it was more, but just think how much you are down from a year ago.

I had a fill on Friday up to 4.2cc's, the doctor said I was right on schedule. (average wieght loss on band in a year is 52 pounds, so just think what you have done)! About a pound a week.

Everyday is a challenge, but I knew that going in.

I never did eat just a cup of food.........I try to cut my portions down, I figure when the weight lost is complete, I want to know how to eat like a normal person. I excercise 1/2 hour a day, weather it be walking lifting weights, stairmaster.......I do something.

Good luck on your journey!

Sandi

I think I have around 5 cc. I'm not for sure. I sometimes don't understand why we can't have the fills and we tell them that we are eating to much food. Looks like you and I are having about the same progress.Yes, I'm very proud of the 58 lost lbs that I'm not carrying around anymore. My biggest problem is to not eat sweets. I can still put the sweets away and that's when you have to have will power. I have started doing 30 min per day on my elliptical and burning 500 calories. Surely that is going to make a difference when I go back Jan 5. Good Luck to you as you go through this journey.

Good Luck on Jan 18 . The last fill that I had in Oct was when I finally started getting some restriction. I had lost most of my weight without much restriction. But after my last fill I only lost 1 lb for the month. I really don't think that I'm too tight. Occassionaly I may have trouble but its because I eat to fast. Seems like it is beginning to be a struggle. I guess my body has gotten use to the band. Hopefully the exercise will help.

SallyJean, we are band twins! I was banded on the same day as you!! I think you have done amazing, you have lost more than I have. When I went to my consult I weighed 193 and on surgery day I was 188. I am currently at 148, I had to have an emergency unfill 3 weeks ago so I have gained a little. But had 1.5cc put in on Monday, so hopefully I will get some resitriction soon. I was banded in Dallas but have since moved to Florida. I have decided to go to Fill Centers of America and it was a great experience. Reason I am saying that is for this reason, my band doc told me to eat 1/2cup to a cup of food to loose. FCOA says you should be at your sweet spot when you can only eat 1/3 of a cup! Wow, not there yet, but why didnt someone tell me this earlier? I know that there are different opinions about how much to eat, and I feel like that is probably to little. But the opinion is that your stoma will stretch if you keep trying to shove a cup of food in there. Anyway, at least now I know what I should be looking for in my "Sweet Spot"....

I think that you have made great strides and remember we are to be a turtle and take our time not the hare who rushes to the end....slow and steady wins the race!!

Deanna

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
