First Fillers

Recommended Posts

Ok, I had my first fill today. I had surgery on 10-23-2009 and today was my first follow up appointment. I have lost 14 pounds since my surgery. I was nervous about my fill, but it went perfect. I have the 10cc LapBand and today they put 2.5cc of Fluid in. I have to go back in two weeks and if everything is ok, they will do another 2.5cc's. I would like to know how your first fills have been. My fill itself did not hurt, but I think I could feel the fluid going in the band. Has anyone else done this. Also, how much weight have you lost in the first month? My Dr. said that amount was good, but I am not sure. Any feedback with be greatly appericiated.

Hi there!

First of all, I think that 14# is excellent considering a lot of people gain during the 1st month! I too lost 14 the first month!

As far as fills go, I just had my first last Wednesday & it went fine. It didn't hurt, just felt a little strange. I felt the same after my fill until Saturday. I think I've had my first taste of restriction & an 'almost stuck' episode. Thank goodness it passed quickly! I am taking in a lot less & going 4.5 hours before I feel the 1st hunger pangs.

I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the reason it took 3 days to feel restriction from my fill.....I don't get it. :huh2:It seems as though it would be tighter the first few days & then loosen!?!? I'm not complaining, just wondering.

I think you (us, we!) are doing great! Keep on plugging!

the people in my support group says it takes a few days to feel restriction because it takes a few days for the Fluid to fill in the band after injection...........(disperse around the band is what I am trying to say............

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
