Do any of you have the Johnson and Johnson realize band?

What is the capacity of the band?

How many cc's do you have?

When did you feel a good restriction?

I have had four fills and am up to 6cc. I am still always so hungry (even after eating excellent - high Protein, etc)

Hi Erin. We were banded around the same time (I was 9 days after you - June 18th). I have the Realize C band. I think the capacity is 12cc or maybe 13. I've had 4 fills. In total I should have 9cc, but when my surgeon withdraws the Fluid its always 1 cc less. I think 1 cc gets trapped in the tubing and cannot come out (thats what he said). So technically I have about 8cc's in my actual band with 1 residual cc in the tube.

I do feel restriction and there are some foods that it seems like I can't eat at all (like pizza). I've been getting stuck a lot lately (I threw up 3 times in the past 5 days) so for the next 3 days I put myself on liquids to give my tummy a rest. I think I may not be chewing well enough. But its strange because some foods I can eat with no problem (like macaroni and cheese for example...I can eat an entire plate of it). So Im really confused whether or not I have good restriction. I'm giving it a few more weeks to try and feel things out.

I think when I was at 6 ccs I had no restriction (but everyone is different).

Good luck!

I have the Realize Band, it holds 11cc's. I have 10.1cc's in my band currently and I would say that I have some restriction but not a lot. I have an appointment with the doctor next week to figure out what next steps are since I still have a long way to go with my weight loss and I'm nearing the band's capacity.

Hello,

I was banded Aug 17th. with the Realize band and I have had 3 fills (I had to cancell a couple because of sickness) But at my last visit, the fill nurse was telling me that with the Realize band they have found out that the fills need to be more than with the lap band. At first they were just putting in normal amounts - but now they are putting in 3cc's at a time and am finally getting some restiction. I currently have 7cc's in mine. I am hoping this next time will be the sweet spot. Hope this helps.

Deb.......

I was banded on Aug 11th with the Realize band. It holds 11cc. I have had two fills for a total of 6.5ccs. No restriction yet...just depending on my own will power. So far, so good.

DITTO!

11cc capacity Realize Band with 3cc fill right now. Can eat everything.

I'm going in for a fill week after next. If I don't get a lot more restriction before Thanksgiving... well, let's just say I need to get more restriction before Thanksgiving.

My band is also 11ccs. Had my first fill today, put in 6ccs. We'll see but so far so good. Surgery was 10/2 and I am down 30lbs. I felt restricted prior to the fill so am a bit curious how restricted I will be once I can eat again. Will let you know if its an issue. I must say it is a weird feeling, feeling full. Prior to the surgery I never felt full. I just got tired of eating or decided I better stop because who really needs more than a large pizza... (lol) now, at least as of yesterday, a slice and half without eating the crust and I am stuffed. Weird.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
