when will I feel differently about me?

Recommended Posts

I have lost all of my weight 3 times and everytime I got down to 130-150, I was still unhappy and gained the weight back. I finally figured out that I needed to change my insides and not my outsides. I was over 300 lbs and happier than I've ever been. I am losing now and I can see myself wanting to get crazy in my head, like getting thin is gonna be this fantastic event and I have to keep reminding myself that my life is now, today, and that I have everything that I need to be happy right now. I'm hoping that I can maintain this as I shrink....

I'm glad you asked that question because I feel just like you. I am 4 months post op and have lost about 50 pounds!

But, I don't feel like I used to feel when I lost weight on Weight Watchers. I know it sounds weird, but now I am smaller, but my stomach is more bloated and gassy than usual. (sorry)

My daughter and I joke about how 'skinny' we used to feel on weight watchers after we lost about 10 pounds (of course we gained them back but that's not the point.) And, on weight watchers, I was eating Lots of fruits and raw vegetables, things I can't do now. I think I felt skinnier then and not now because of the stomach thing. Crazy!

So, I'm glad you asked that question, because it is something that I think about every day when I put on my pants that hang loose.

I am only down 25 lbs. and see no difference. I am upset b/c the goal they gave me at 5 ft 6 in is 160 lbs. That is over 100 pounds to lose and at 160 I STILL had to shop in Lane Bryant and Macy Woman. I want to shop in the normal dept. and LOVE the clothes from NY and CO. At 160 I was an 16 or 18. Very annoying to think all this and I will still be a fatty at the end wearing sacks from LB. I started at 289.

How long ago did you weigh that, Tracy? I ask, because I am also 5'6", weigh 217 now and I am wearing the smallest LB size and it is getting too big. I can already shop in regular stores. It seems they are making clothes bigger now. Until now, the last time I was a 14/16 was in 1990, so it has been a while! I have set my personal goal at 175. That will put me in a 12 or 14.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
