This is probably going to sound crazy but..... Since I was banded I've had stupid, vivid dreams every night. I wake up exhausted every morning. Is this something anyone else has experienced or am I just a nut case? : ) Thanks!

I have had this problem for 13 years now. Nothing to do with the band for me. You probably have some unresolved issue that manifests itself in your sleep. I take Trazadone for this and it helps immensley. Also, now that I exercise regularly and I am physically exhausted when my head hits the pillow it has decreased some.

I sure hope it gets better for you because it really sucks.

that's really wierd because since being banded so have I. Last night I had a strange one that my 14 yr old daughter called me @ work (been layed off for a year now) and told me she was in a town 45 miles away, that she ditched her field trip @ school and went shopping and spent her entire paycheck (she's 14!) and that I have to come get her and she was crying?????????????????? Every night I have been waking up about 5am or earlier with theese strange dreams and yes they are very life like and often involve people I have not seen in years??????? Anyone else?

I do have an anciness that leads to a lot of werid dreams. I think mostly because of my new life changes and physical changes. Also probably because I am not always going to bed with a big full gut or in a sugar comma like in my pre land-band life... Just thinking.

Best of luck to you!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
