Has anyone had any experiences with Dr. LePort in Fountain valley? How did you like him? How long was the pre-op process? Are his procedures similar to Dr. Oliak? I am waiting to set up my first consultation with LePort and I'm having second thoughts on my surgeon choice...:drool:

He is an awesome surgeon. He did my surgery and took precautions during the 1st so that I would not get any kind of infection. He is very nice and my scars are looking pretty good too and it's just been a month since my band was placed. :smile2:

@Wicked...,

That's who I'm consulting with as well. He comes highly recommended from my insurance company. In addition, the receptionist at my PCP's office went to him many years ago and loved him.

I'd love to hear what you think. I go for my H&P there tomorrow morning and am hoping for a good experience as well.

Dr Leport is doing my band on Monday. My insurance company sent me to him and I'll be eternally grateful. The Center for Obesity is a Center of Excellence and provides education and support throughout the process. If you like, I'll post again after my surgery!

Good luck to you!

I don't like that the group doesn't allow you to meet with the surgeon before you are approved for surgery. I would like to be able to see if I like the doctor first. That kind of makes me meh about them too.

Hi there! I am getting banded by dr. Leoport's surgeon group! I have met with dr. Kelly Francis and she seems very calm and nice. Dr leport is the same way. We are friends on facebook! I highly recommend this group to anyone in the orange county area

I was just banded yesterday 2/2/12 at Orange Coast Memorial with Dr. LePort's group. My surgeon was Dr. Kenneth Tieu and he was absolutely great, calm, professional, open to anything I had to say and willing to talk and listen as long as I wanted to talk. The center has been great from the beginning. I would absolutely recommend LePort's group!

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

      I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

        That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
