It really is a bad idea to cheat on your post-op diet. It can cause you problems later on if you do. Your stitches inside can be torn from the stomach churning during digestion causing a slip later. Your still healing on the inside from surgery. Don't do anything that you will regret later.

are you getting plenty to drink and are you drinking all of your protien? If so and you are still really hungry you should call your doctor and see what he say's he may let you go to the next stage sooner that scheduled. But you should not risk hurting yourself or messing something up.

I have a lot and wish I didn't so don't even go there just try try hard. I don't think anything has happened to me, but like the other person said later on I hope nothing does for me. Yes I cheated and have been grubbing I am now on my 3 wk post op still eating mushy's and just got back on the wagon today and so far so good. I had coffee with splenda for Breakfast and creamy Soup for lunch. Will have something soft for dinner don't know what yet I am gone keep doing good until my fill on the 16th so hopefully I loose a few lbs when I go in. Please don't cheat I wish I hadn't.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
