1 month post op and LOVING IT

Recommended Posts

Well, 1 month officially post surgery and I have lost 22 pounds... I am so happy. I haven't even gotten a fill yet so this is just amazing to me. I have never been "hungry" yet... Mental hunger yeah, but starving for lack of food? Nope. I still go out to all the places I used to go out to for dinner but I am eating about 1/2 of what I used to eat. After the fill I am sure it will be less than that... wow!!!!

I have so much energy... I play tennis 3 hours at a time 2-3 times a week, I walk every night, and I went rock climbing yesterday!! 5 hours of climbing... and I just feel great!!!!

I measured myself and wow since the week before surgery to now?

Date....Weight....Neck...Arm...Forearm...Thigh...Calf....Waist.....Stomach

9/8.......285.........16.....16.75....11.5......32.5...18.75...46.75.......57.5

10/14....263.........15.......15.......11........29.......17.5.....40...........53

good for you girl -

don't let the typical slow down discourage you - just remember the key element here is lifestyle change and exercise to keep the momentum going.

Isn't it great to have hope.

Congrats on the super weight loss. That's really great, but somehow I'm not surprised considering your activity level. Wow, I am really impressed and encouraged at how much you do. I think it's wonderful and believe me, it's one of the best things you can do for yourself. I also love that you obviously enjoy your activities, it's a good reminder to all of us, that exercise can be fun!!! Keep up the good work, you're of to a great start!!!!

Cindy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
