when do you get 1st fill

Recommended Posts

mushy stage, I am not having any trouble with it, I don't feel the slightest bit hungry! I do feel a sort of fullness after 1/2 cup mush, maybe it's wind behind the food, that's what it feels like anyway.

it's hard to describe. I'm doing a lot of burping.:cursing:

cheers

We're all different. I was banded March 24th 2009 and I have the same band size as you. Just got my first fill last week. I had good restriction from just my empty band up unfill a few weeks ago.

So you might not need one right away, if you're loosing don't fix what's not broke!

I think it is way to early to know if I do have any restriction just from the band. My guess is that it is all still a little swollen from the actual op. I don't feel hungry though (except mind hunger) and when I do eat even my mushy stuff I feel like Ive had enough! because I would be too scared to over eat at the moment I don't have any real discomfort eating either. I hope my case is the same as your. my weight loss to date is mostly pre-op

I see my Dr again on 9th November...I hope he does a fill for me then, I cant really say I'm super hungry but I could keep eating! it is only pure will power thats stopping me so far.

I havent lost any weight since the op either,

Hi Guys,

I had my op on the 19th Oct in Perth and had lost a little weight but i have been eating anything really other than Sandwhiches..

Had my first will yesterday he said it was 5ml in a 11 ml band, felt the band tighten but it hasnt stopeed e eating or drinking..... Is this bad or am i not tight enough yet ??

Should i be noticing a huge difference???

Will I lose the weight...

Think i need support from fellow banders

I go back in 4 weeks

You should be trying to stick to 1/2-1 cup of food at a time. It can take several adjustments to get to the perfect level of restriction. They usually take it easy in the first fill because you need to get used to changing your eating habits.

Work with the band, do the right things and you will lose the weight!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
