December Bandsters 2009

Recommended Posts

Michelle,

The Patches are to prevent vomiting (like when you get the stomach flu or food poisoning) and not for PBing (when you took one bite too many and it comes up). You put one on when you are feeling nauseated, in order to keep you from vomiting, to keep your band from slipping.

My surgeon is very proactive in keeping you from doing anything that might cause the band to slip. He wants us calling with any questions or concerns, regardless of the hour of day.

When I get home in a bit, I'll post the name of the patch.< /p>

How to add ticker.

Go to www.tickerfactory.com

Build your own ticker

At the end it gives you a BB code for your ticker

Copy it and paste it in your profile signature

The last part is your own tickers code like wS1FSj6

To update your ticker go to www.tickerfactory.com/weight-loss/wS1FSj6

neat designs..........

I have never heard of meeting with him ahead of time.....but f it is before your surgery, like you have to be there and hour or two ahead, and that is when you are meeting with him, then that is routine. He wants to find out your history, and possible problems and if you have sleep apnea, etc.

This is a good sign!! Hope mine meets with me ahead of time, beacuse every chance I have to make my case a more personal one in their minds, the better the care I will get, methinks.

Would not wanna be a number...

>smile<

CONGRATS I want to hear from you when you feel like getting back on here..don't wait till you have a need; we all need to hear you made it!!! Like my weight loss ticker?? Just got it......

I had my surgery yesterday. Everything went well except the terrible gas pains I had when I woke up.

I'm getting excited. My pre-op is this Friday the 11th.

How many days out did you all have to start your liquid diets?

We have the same date! Good luck to you all!

Hello Terri,

We are on similar paths. As a self pay patient things did move very quickly. I am on day 8 of the pre-op liquids and slowly going insane. My warped sense of humor keeps me going though. I have a Dec. 15 date in Nashville and looking forward to even drinking broth. As for Christmas events, I have normally just opted not to go. Okay, most of them I wouldn't want to go to normally so this is working out ha ha. I have chosen not to share this surgery with anyone so I sure don't care for the questions on why I am not chowing down and throwing back drinks. Good luck. Me, I am a big chicken but I am going forward with it just the same.

Good evening everyone.

I start my 14 day pre-op weight loss in a week and was wondering if I should pig out OR start cutting back now? Cutting back seems like it might make it easier but I might could find some comfort eating whatever I want this last week.

What did you early Dec bandsters do?

Please advise.

Good luck to all..........

Hello all I am on day 5 of my liquid diet 800 cal. This is harder then I thought but I have not strayed from it I so wanted to run in churches and get me a 2 piece but I know that would defeat the purpose of what I want to achieve. I guess I just wanted to vent for a min. Question is anyone eles drinking the Atkins PreMixes Protein Shake.< /div>

I don't start my liquids until next week but have stocked up and tried several different kinds....Atkins being one of them. I thought if I have a variety it might help the 2 weeks go smoother? lol Anyway, I like the Atkins, but my favorite is Chike (which I ordered online). Good luck to you! Hang in there, you will be in surgery before you know it

I moved your name, so it isn't next to a date, but I didn't remove it completely. That way, when December's over, we'll still think of you and send positive thoughts your way for a successful banding...whenever that turns out to be.

You are sooooooo sweet. Thanks.

I'm on the Atkins shakes. I hate them but I figure I have 1 week to go so I will tolerate them.

I started early because I KNEW I would have days where I wanted to cheat or go off the plan. So I just started early and I don't feel bad that I just had french fries...just sayin' lol

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
