Two alternative ways to get "unstuck"

Recommended Posts

Discovered these both by accident:

1) Run vigorously up and down stairs. Discovered when running to the loo to vomit up a piece of chicken which was stuck fast. Doesn't always work, but I do try it now at the first sign.

2) When above method not an option because driving a car, seek out some speed bumps and launch car at them. Dislodged a duck wrap last week using that method

Any other "alternative" ideas?

When I saw the title I was excited that there might be a new way of finding relief. But after reading them I don't think these will work for me.LOL. I live in a single storey house and there are no speed bumps for miles around. I can imagine if i did find one and launch my car at it I would probably be arrested for being a hoon!

Aw, sorry to disappoint. When I said "launch", I was using poetic licence. I suppose I meant that I didn't slow down too much for them and it was enough to "shake" the food through the band

Have you ever tried laying on the edge of your bed with your top half towards the floor and your hips on the bed. Make sure you have an empty cup because most everything will slide back on out. Getting back up can be a challenge.

Jumping up and down worked for me. I have only been stuck once though, so not sure if it will work everytime.

I usually walk. If I walk around for a little bit it usually helps. Not always but... Especially when we are in a restaurant.

I had the band at the beginning of Feb this year.

Everyone has different things that get stuck and there are plenty of threads discussing it. Generally though, bread and dry meats are common "stickers".

I suppose my title was misleading - I didn't mean "unstuck" as in bringing the food back up. I meant that jiggling around sometimes pushes it through. Sorry for that. :scared2:

chewable Papaya Enzymes work pretty good for pushing it through if you don't want to force it up. Usually if I just bend over toward the floor it will come back up and sure enough I can tell that I didn't chew it well enough.

if i raise my arms above my head and kinda jump around, that has helped. (at home only, lol)

i have tried pineapple juice once. hurt like hell and i ended up just throwing it up. and then later whatever it was that was stuck. maybe i drank too much? i dont know.

ok, and this is gonna be way tmi, but...i swear, like 50% of the time i am stuck, i also have to have a bm. and if i poo, i am no longer stuck. how freakin weird is that???

I hate that feeling, first I perform breathing exercises, in thru your nose and out thru mouth. then stand up, walk around, this helps facilitate natural digestive process. after about 5-10mins it passes. dont drink or eat anything for at least 2hrs.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
