Tattoos and weightloss

Recommended Posts

I am interested to hear from anyone with tattoos how their weight loss has effected the tattoos. I am due to be banded around Xmas and I have quite a few tattoos..a full arm sleeve, all across shoulders and chalves. I am worried they are going to becuase misshapped and look :) after the weight loss....any feedback from anyone would be greatly appreciated

Hi Sarah,

My concern was very similiar since I also have tatts. A coworker who had the surgery said a tatt on her arm which stretched across her upper arm, now sits in the middle of her arm since she has lost weight. Her tatt is a simple name, but I have tatts on my back and a dragon fly on my shoulder that I wonder about. My back doesnt concern me as much see I dont see it (lol) but I think this is a great question and I look forward to seeing other replies.

Hi Sarah

I've only got one, which has just kind of gotten slightly smaller, but it hasn't lost its shape etc at all after a loss of around 40kg. But then again, it is on my forearm, which wasn't a particularly chubby part of my body compared to the rest (but that part of my arm has definitely shrunk some).

It will be interesting to see how you go with those bigger ones.

Only time will tell I guess. If they do go funny I'll pas them off as some modern art, through acid eyes looking tattoo. I dont know, I care but it is not the most important thing the most important thing is this surgery, I am so excited about it got a call this morning to say that it has been brought forward to the 21st of this month was orginally scheduled for mid december. I tried to update my ticker but I think it has all gone wrong but I dont care.....16 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:lol::(:thumbup:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
