Hi Girls~

Been a slow couple of days for us. Feeling blah. Not bad, not hurting, not happy, not sad.....blah.

Today we have Connor with us, so we went to a flea market, then he wanted to go to Burger King. So we went to BK!! We are the grandparents afterall, and spoiling is our department! I took a couple bites of a burger, but it was not going to go down well, I could just tell. So I drank some more Diet DP, and let Rick have it. Come home, and what did I do? Ate a mini candy bar, it went down fine! Go figure!

Michelle, I have never been that tight. I choose to keep my band really loose compared to most. But it has worked for me. I know the band is working to the best of its ability for how I have it adjusted, it is ME that is not working to the best of my ability!

I have not gained, I have not lost. But that in itself is good. So I am not complaining. I feel good where I am, and while I know I want to get the rest off, it is not imperitive to me to do it RIGHT NOW! Spring and increased activity will do it.

I actually got hit on --- at my age! Of course it was by a man also my age!!! I took Connor to go out to the play area, while Rick ordered. When we got over by the play area, there was a sign on the door, that it was reserved for a party. Pissed me off! No kids allowed in other than the party! They did not close it off when we had my DGD party there! I told Connor "We should have went to McDonalds". There was a man with 2 little kids at a booth there, he tells me, something about together we have 3 kids, I say we can take 'em. Joking, I laugh, and said it was ridiculous. We talked about that----the play area being closed on Sat. and how many kids were in the place not being allowed to join in. Then out of the clear blue, he says to me Would you and your son like to join us? I laughed and said it is my grandson--he said his were his grandkids too, and said I looked way to young to be a grandma! Yeah right! Then I told him nicely that Grandpa was ordering our meal! He apologized, and said he meant no harm, that he hoped "Grandpa" wouldn't be mad! I laughed.

I told Rick I had an offer of a dinner date! He has given me grief ever since about picking up men. Because we went from there to Ace Hardware, and some older man held the door for me. He is loving giving me crap about it.

I will say the man at BK---had incredible eyes!! He was dark headed, darker skinned, would have guessed at Hispanic, maybe--but light slate blue eyes! And he treated his Grankids well. So while I did not get hit on in some classy joint, it was at least a seemingly nice man!!! Rick just told me to tell you all about my new boyfriend!! LMAO Funny day.

Kinsey's mouth is much better. The canker sores just run their course. She is eating Manda out of house and home now!!

Tracy, hope the move goes smoothly, and you are up and operating again quickly! With all that space, maybe you should carry a GPS so you can find your computer!!

Girls, my boob is such a sight today, nice and greenish yellow. The bruise is healing quickly, and is such a sick color now.....and goes up fairly high on my chest, I had to change shirts, because if I bent over, you could see my technicolor going on! The soreness is gone. Markings are still there, that is some ink!

Gonna go read for awhile....will bbl.

Hey ladies.

Kat, Rick better watch out...lol. Isn't it nice to get treated like that. I'm loving it. People treat me so much nicer now.

Last night I was so tired from such a long week. Emotionaly drained. So I drank a margarita and about an hour later I took a muscle relaxer. You would think that I would have just been put out for the night. Not so. I didn't get to bed till 12:30am and woke up at 5am. I got up and came out and fixed a hot chocolate and than fixed another one. I than fixed an english muffin. So finally around 6 am I headed back to be and the next thing I know it's after 12:30 in the afternoon. I came out and fixed another hot chocolate and crawled in my chair and stayed there and napped till it was time to go to church. I just took some aleve a little while ago because my knees are killing me. Now we are going to head out to a birthday party for a cousin of mine and we will eat dinner at the restaurant.

Not only did I have to be at the hospital all week with my sister but I got a call that a cousin of mine had been in a very serious accident. I headed over to another hospital and she was in ICU. I got to be there while the Doc was there and I'm so glad. She looks like she was hit by a mack truck. She was getting ready to head out to dinner with her hubby and was coming down the stairs and I don't know what happened next but she tumbled down the stairs to the landing and broke thru the railing and fell 10 feet to the living room floor. She broke her hip, collar bone, 3 vertebrate in her neck, stitches in her head and a very bruised and swollen ear. No bleeding in the brain but it took a beating. They did surgery on her hip but she had a dieseased liver prior to this and they don't think that the liver is functioning enough to send enough blood to the hip. They are afraid it won't send enough blood and that the bone will die. They won't operate on the colar bone because they don't think the liver will survive another surgery. I'll stop there because the list goes on. Please keep Gaby in your prayers.So far she has managed to hang on this long. Doc's are not sure she will survive this. We are holding out hope.

So you can see that dealing with my sister and my cousin how I can be emotionaly drained. The one good thing goiing on is that my other sister is doing her best to not be so needy right now. She has been doing things for herself because she is trying to help me out. Bless her heart.

So hubby and I are off. Going to try and have a nice relaxing evening.

Tracy, I hope you guys have a nice first night in you new home.

Chat with you all tomorrow.

Hey Suzanne...sorry about your cousin. How old is she? Her and your sister are in my prayers.

Kat-young or old, it is still fun to get 'hit on', right? It is a real ego booster.

Jenn-that sucks that you are having female issues again! Did they say you might spot?

Michelle-good to hear from you! I wish we had a wood burning stove or a fireplace. That would be SO nice.

Paula-I am sorry you aren't feeling well but I am glad that you posted. :w00t:

All homies-well it has been a longgg day. I am about to pass smooth out. I am hurting all over. BUT, it is so worth it! I love it here. We still have a few things at the other house but we can get it in a trip or two. It rain a little bit during the move but all in all it worked out well. From their arrival until they left it only too 10 minutes shy of 2 hours! They are so fast & dependable. I have a new address & phone number so if you wanna know what they are, PM me.

Goodnight friends. :)

Hi Tracy, I'm here!

*Jenn, good for you for getting back to the gym! I have a perfectly good treadmill sitting here collecting dust. Need to get back on it!

*Kat, too funny about getting hit on! I think it's great! I'm glad Rick can enjoy it too. I'm not too tight, just a lot tighter than I was. I seem to need to be a little on the snug side. Otherwise, I just eat, and eat, and eat, and eat. I just don't have my head on straight right now.

Good news with Kinsey. Poor baby.

*Suzie, I'm so sorry for your cousin. I hope she can recover, and well. Prayers are being said. Try to rest when you can.

*Tracy, I'm blessed in that we have both a fireplace (dining room) and a wood stove (living room). If I remember, I'll try to take a pic of the fireplace. It's one reason we bought the house. It's an entire wall of rock w/the fire box in the middle. It's really neat.

How are you feeling today? Yesterday was a lot of work and I'm sure you've still got more to do. Rest as you can.

~~~~~
Not much going on today. Had a hard time sleeping last night so ended up sleeping through getting up for church. :wink: Not good! Especially when you're trying to teach a young one good habits and raise her in the church! :drool:
Football is on right now. Waiting for the rain to come in. We're supposed to get slammed this week. Looking forward to it. DH got home from work this AM and promptly got on the roof to blow the leaves out of the gutters. Then he blew those leaves again, away from the house and off the walkways. He also checked and battened down the hatches. He thinks we're all set. Going to be a very wet week! :w00t:
Well, DD is wanting some Jello. Better get it made. Have a great day!
Good afternoon girls
OK
SO, Kat, that is funny stuff about you getting hit on, not that you did, but how sweet is it that Rick is jealous. Kind of cute
Tracy - you must be beat, how is the homestead?
Suzanne - that is horrible, I will keep her in my prayers
Michelle - took the last 2 days of and have not been drinking close to enough Water. Got to get on track
Well, Thursday night I went out with a guy I went to grade school with, he had a birthday party last night but i ran into him while out to dinner with the family, told him i was going out for a bit, well don't you know he came looking for me
I have to call him about 6 tonight and he is going to come over and hang out.
Going into this, he is just out of a 9 year relationship and can't fall for anyone right now. Which in a way works for me, I get some attention and a companion without the horrible pressure.
What confuses me, is that he keeps telling me that he can't fall for anyone right now, as he squeezes me tighter. very mixed emotions there, but trying not to read into anything and get freaked out, you all know i do that.
And as he says he can't fall agin, askes if he can see me tonight. We have talked and flirted over the years, don't know why now, but i'm kind of glad. Things happen for a reason right.
OH and get this, he is a civilian!
Morning Girls, third straight morning that the fog is so thick that you can only see about 100 yards in front of you. Scary, there's been lots of accidents.
Yesterday I never even turned my computer on. I did a "Me" day. I did some things that I need to get caught up on and than finished the day getting a new project started. I'm making a countec cross stitch picture for my niece's wedding. I'm so excited about it. She's getting married in Sept, so I think I should have enough time to get it done. lol.
My nephew has joined the Navy. Holy Cow. I hope he knows that they don't like slackers. He has one more test to pass and than they will give him his orders. He's wanting to get into the boat mechanic part of it.
I finished a quilt top for the local Project Linus group. I need to take a picture of it. It's my first one and may be my only one. I guess I'm just not a quilter. I did kind of enjoy it.
Work this morning and than I need to run to Hobby Lobby and get a few things. Than I have class at church tonight. Next weekend we go on retreat with the kids. We are going to a Dude Ranch in Kansas for the weekend. I'm like "Who in their right mind would schedule a retreat in Kansas in late January at a Dude Ranch"? I hope they have a REALLY BIG Bonfire.
To my Pacific Girls. Be safe in the rain. We will be getting it in a few days.
Cousin is holding her own right now, which I guess is a good thing. Not really improving, just hanging in there.
Have a great day.
Good morning!
Suzanne, glad to hear your cousin is hanging in there, sometimes it is best that way, that they remain still and heal some before becoming aware of anything. Many years ago, when my brother was injured so severely, he was in a coma for 19 days, then when he finally come out of it, they ended up inducing one, so he would quit thrashing---and continue to heal. So.....hoping her body is healing, and she is unaware of the pain. Poor thing. Your poor family has sure been through the wringer this last while. How is your sister doing?
Tracy--good for you, almost in the new home completely, how does it feel? What do the girls think?
Jenn-----watch out for those old school mates. Rick and I went from 4th grade to graduating together! We never went out or dated at all. Were friends, tho not close. Then a few years out of school, I ran into him, and OMG! We clicked! We lived together for awhile, our kids were little. Then the oilfield here busted and he was out of work, and ended up going back to school to get his degree, and I could not leave the state with my DD due to divorce agreement. So we went our separate ways, but never completely. He would ALWAYS come and get DD to spend the day when he was here. There was never hard feelings. Then when it happened we were both single again at the same time....LOOKOUT! We did the long distance thing for 2 years so as to ease the school thing with the kids, and finally ended up him moving back here, mainly because the parents were here,and we knew would eventually need help. At the time all those years ago, we had no idea how much help they would require!!! Amazing what a couple of decades does to people! And the rest is history!!!
Michelle, our leaves are long gone....the snow finally tried to melt this weekend, was a beautiful weekend....and the snow is due to hit again today!!! And will snow most of the week. Winter is here again....grrrrrrrr
Kinsey is with me again! Her preschool is of course closed today with MLK holiday, so daycare closes too. So DD had to work, and Kinsey is with me. We are going in to have lunch with Papa, and buy some groceries, so I can hole up the rest of the week and hibernate.
I have heard nothing about my test, and figure with the holiday, I won't hear today. I plan on calling tomorrow to find out something....anything. The stress is getting to me. I am an eating machine. If it is not nailed down I am inhaling it. And I cannot go to sleep----then when I do, I am out like a light, and have hell getting up in the morning. Time to know something so I can plan accordingly.
A man we have known for most of my life died this weekend. He had a heart problem, and had a complete heart transplant 19 years ago. He was married to a friend of ours, and he had his kids from his first marriage, then they had theirs, so together they had 8 kids. For years they would panic when any of the kids even got a runny nose, because of Joe's heart transplant. He was tuff tho, and he did great! He raised those kids, had 18 grandkids, and 3 great grandkids!!! He took them all fishing, and they all played ball, we spent a lot of time together at the ball park. One of his sons is our sons age. He ended up getting cancer, of the liver, and they said it was likely intensified due to the anti-rejection drugs being filtered through the liver all these years. He was unable to take the strong chemo due to the heart, kind of an evil circle. He was 69----and lived a long time past when they thought he would. He got his heart when he was basically my age, and to think he would have died then, and got an additional 19 years, is amazing to me. We are going to his rosary tonight, then I will go to the services tomorrow. Sweet, Sweet man, may he RIP.
Well if I am going to get us ready to meet Rick for lunch I better get a move on....see y'all in awhile!!
Hi ladies! We are all moved in. It has been great but exhausting. We all LOVE it here. It is wonderful. The quiet, the space, the quiet, the space....lol. Fantastic.
I am now typing on my new HP laptop. :) I let dh take my other one. That is the way he wanted it. He got me this one. He is so good to me.
Jenn-sorry you have to postpone your trip, but you are right...it will be much warmer!
Kat-let us know if you find out anything tomorrow about the results, ok? I will keep saying big prayers.
Cindy-how is Erika?
Suzanne-joining the navy is probably the best thing your nephew could do. I wish him the best!
Laura-what have you been up to? How is your mil adjusting?
Goodnight everyone! :thumbup:
Last night my oldest nephew came over and we had a good talk about his mom and brother. It felt good to get things out. Not that it is going to help but I felt a big relief.
Work this morning and than off to sisters. Seems she hurts to much to even do her laundry. She asked me to come and get it and do it for her. I told her to go down and reserve the machines and that I would be over to "Help" her do her own laundry. We have had so much fog here for the last 4 days and it is reaking havoc with peoples joints, but please. So much that you can't do your own laundry. I guess I need to have another talk with her about going to an assited living place, that seems to always wake her up and realie that she's not as bad as she thought.
If we get the time I think hubby and I might go see "Avatar". Maybe. I have to go out to dinner with some friends and I'll have to see how my time goes.
Everyone have a great day.
      Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
      I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
      I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
      My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
      Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
      Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
      A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
      I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
      Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
      Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣
      Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
      I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL
      Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
