Hi everyone...just a quick drive by posting. Gotta get dd packed and ready for her final weekend to mawmaw & pops before school starts! Actually it is Aunts first, then mawmaw & pops. She is packed but I need to make sure that it is done correctly. You know, not 7 pairs of shorts 2 dresses and no underwear or toothbrush. lol

I will post personals again later. Have a great day everyone!

Hey guys, It's raining here now. We really need it though. grass around here is brown.

I worked a long shift and then went and got Sis and took her to the grocery store. It was pretty hot out there so I moved her along. Took her home and than came home and put my bathing suit on. Hubby and I got in the pool for about an hour It started to cloud up.

I got a call from the second shift girl saying that the owner was there showing the place. We've known for a long time that she has the place on the market. Her and her husband want to move to Colorado. Hope she finds someone soon.

Off to go make a pork chop casserole, hubby's favorite.

Bye.

Busy Day!!!!

Kinsey was here for a bit, then took her to my Moms so I could do my running. Went and got wood permits for both BLM wood cutting and Forest wood cutting----then took the saw blades in, then hit Walmart for EVERYTHING!!! $200.00 later it is put away and I STILL don't know what's for dinner!

I mailed shirts to TX & NY today, as well as another box to LA to my grandsons. Keep watch for them, I hope they are at least somewhat in the ballpark for what you had in mind.

This was the 70th anniversary for sturgis, and the 70th Tshirt SUCKED!!!!!! I thought they would have some awesome ones. Wrong. The licensed shirt was 2 skeletons in the 69 position, with another skeleton stripping off a shirt, to join in. It said 69+1 there is always room for 1 more...........I thought it was not what any of us wanted. Sure everyone laughed when they saw it the first time, but the guy said it was not selling well at all in his booth.

Anyway, Rick just pulled up so we are headed out to pick up the saw chains so we can work our butts off this weekend.

But we played the last couple so guess it is ok!!!

Saturday morning and I'm up because it is my day to work. We had some really huge storms last night. No problems here but there were a few houses hit by lightning. Lots of Water. Pool is full.

We are going to an "Open House" today. A girl we work with moved into a place and she is having all her friends over. We really like her alot, she is very vocal and fun loving. She is also very openly gay, I mean VERY openly. Hubby is worried that he's going to see something that he shouldn't see. I told him that right now she doesn't have a girl friend but that her other friends may be there and to be prepared. I've been around it all my life and it doesn't bother me. He's an old country boy and has only seen stuff on tv. He'll be fine. It's not like they are going to be having sex right in front of us. lol, he's a goof ball.

I'm thinking of super glueing my lips together. Do you think that doing that for about 2-3 weeks will get me started back on not shoving things into my mouth? I thought about having my mouth wired shut. But I've heard that people loose teeth that way. Just a thought.

Have a good day.

Angela-macy is so ready for school it is not even funny. She said she is bored. lol We went to meet the teacher night and macy thinks she is pretty. (she is) She is young with blonde hair and blue eyes like Macy. AND macy said that her new teacher has her favorite book...Stripes. So she is a good teacher in macys eyes!

Today is dh birthday! I wish we could find something special to do since Macy is not here. I know what HIS idea of special is..... Men....lol. They are so easy. (no Trey, I am not being sexist, just speaking the truth!)

Gotta love him. They are easy to shop for. All I need is a bow. LOL

Cold? Hmmm...I don't quite know what that is...Trying to think and test the limits of my brain. Nope, it's no use; don't know what that is.

I hope work gets better.

Lotsa wood ready to be unloaded at my house!! We got out there and had some truck trouble, stressed me out, but I AM married to a mechanic, and all was well!!! LOL

Was a beautiful day, we saw a herd of wild horses, and lots of wild turkeys. Found an arrow head, shared a picnic with my husband, who SERIOUSLY packed the food, and took all my likes and dislikes into consideration! I had all my favorite things!

We drove out to the forest, then changed clothes out there, because long pants and sleeves are needed for the actual cutting and loading, but it is

HOT! So we changed, then changed back before driving in...I have no idea why we have not done that before, it was so much better than driving home in dusty, sweaty clothes. It did feel a little odd, stripping off and changing in the middle of the outdoors---but kinda daring!!!

We have grandkids, so we ALWAYS have a container of baby wipes in our vehicles, so we used them to wash our faces, and it was such a relief, we enjoyed the drive home, with the windows down, no AC---just cuz it was evening, and felt incredible!

The forest service here, went in and thinned the forest, they are going to have a prescribed burn in this area, so they thinned the trees, they dropped hundreds of dead standing ponderosa pines. They are the TALL ones with limbs only on the upper 1/3. The trunks can be huge---but they are TALL and straight. Most were a bit bigger around than say a dinner plate, but there were some so big Rick and I could not reach around them even holding hands!!! HUGE trees! They left some standing, and they had big "W"s on them, they were designated wildlife trees. Ok I thought, but what about the fire???? LOL. go figure!!!

Jenn, I chose your shirt, because I liked it!!! I actually bought one like it in brown, but it has skull designs I am not so fond of on it....but they are on the back so I don't have to look at them!!! You came very close to not getting it!!! Hope you like it, it is a bit different, yet not pink and sequined!!!

Tracy I chose yours like I say thinking the swirls were less defined, it says STURGIS around the neckline, and I liked it a lot.....ummmmmm I have one like it too!!! LMAO!!!

Sorry girls, I just bought what I liked. LOL

Suzanne, Rick was originally unsure how to act around a friend of ours who come out years AFTER we knew her. Then I told him he acted fine around "XXX" and "XXXX", his response was "They're lesbians???" He lives in the dark sometimes!!! Then he relaxed and now one of his friends recently come out, and that threw him for a loop!!! But he handled it very well!! I was impressed!!!

Well I am off to check my mail, and relax my back hurts from today!!! See you tomorrow!

We had such a good time yesterday at the party. Her house is about 100 years old and it comes with about 3/4 of an acre. The trees were huge and there was so much shade. We took along our folding chairs and sat outside the whole time. There was a nice gentle breeze and it was just lovely. We got to meet all of her friends and they were great. They acted like the had known us for years. It was great.

I have noticed as I get older that I also get more mellow and tolerant. More accepting of things. Not that they don't shock me, I just handle it better. I think hubby is also getting that way too. He did great yesterday and made some new friends. Now it's off to California and on to our tattoed nephew. We haven't seen him in a really long time. A few years ago a couzin of mine said she found him on My Space, so I joined there and went and looked at his profile. Seriously, from his upper neck all the way down, he is tattoed. I know I will never have one bit I am intrigued by them. I'm looking forward to seeing him and checking out the tatts.

Today is a lazy day. Will probably spend most of it swimming. I'm gonna go take a walk here soon and get that over with before it gets to hot.

Tomorrow is pedicure day, I can't hardly wait. I haven't done any trimming thinking I would just wait. Now I know I really need one because when I walk I can feel them hitting.

It's count down time to our trip. The spare room is getting loaded with things that we will be taking out with us. I told my niece last night it is going to look like we are moving in with them, lol. I'm looking forward to this trip.

Have a great day and I will check in later.

Home from my walk. It's only 75 degrees but it is very, very humid and there is absolutely NO breeze out there. So I'm sweating like a pig and smell like one also. (sorry about that.)

Hi Jenn.

Cooked some sausage and fixed one egg to go with it. Good start so far. One step at a time.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
