First Fill - what a trip!!!

Recommended Posts

 Had my first fill yesterday and NOT what I expected- I could feel it all tight and he would have me drink and then adjust the flood and then drink and adjust the Fluid and then drink and so on so forth... we ended up settling that a good fit was 2.5 cc's. It literally felt like he put a blood pressure cuff around my tummy and pumped it up. Really strange feeling though when I drink a little burping with each drink- back on liquids for two days and feeling quite satisfied. The Doc emphasized exercising and wants to see me back in a month and if I haven't lost 10 pounds he wants to adjust me again??? Well I will really be trying to get the 10 pounds off!!

Congrat!!! I had my fill yesterday..My first fill was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. He was very compassionate and supportive. I love him.... He put in 5.5 in my band he would put some in and take some out... He said that was average. Good luck on your journey....

I had my first fill today and I'm not sure how much she put in.. I know it wasn't much because I don't feel any restriction although I haven't eaten food yet. liquids today, mushies tomorrow and regular food Saturday. I knew this would be a slow journey so I'm happy where I'm at. I've lost since surgery and I've been exercising and eating well so I can't ask for more.

She also said I can go in every 2 weeks for adjustments so I'm already scheduled for my 2nd fill in two weeks... I have to say it was a weird feeling getting it done. I could feel the needle moving around in there but it didn't hurt.

I had my first fill today also. I had it at the hospital thru the x-ray deal b/c my doc likes to do everyones first one like that so he can make sure everything is in place and going down good. He put 4 cc's in mine and it doesn't feel much different. I am on liquids today, mushies tomorrow and regular Saturday. I am so hungry b/c all I have had all day is 1 Protein Drink & some apple juice. I don't know what to eat b/c I don't really want Soup but I guess I am going to have to have it anyway. He told me anywhere from a month to 6 weeks I would be ready for a 2nd fill. Just however I feel. The process went ok though so no complaints.

I had mine done in fluoroscopy as well.. I should have asked how much she put in but forgot to. I will find out when I have my 2nd fill in a couple weeks.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
