Recommended Posts

Good evening, Violets..

I'm going to head to bed early tonight, but wanted to check to see if there was any word from Michelle.

Keeping you in my thoughts, luv..

Everyone have a good evening. I'm off to read some more of Big Girl. I had Ethan from 11-4 today and Grady from 4-6. I'm one pooped Gramma. I have Ethan all day tomorrow, but Bob will be here to help.

Sleep well, my lovelies.

So we had another rough night with him not being able to sleep with his ear infection. Then he actually sleeps IN in the morning and my mom calls and tells me I have to get up and watch the storms, the first big round is about to come through. Waaah I never get to sleep.

Hey... here I m...@ a soccer game...

Dh @ I went to the vet, the kids didn't want to go... had some time w him, then held him while the muscle relaxer kicked in, then left for the final shot... cried so much my eyes swelled shut... just feel stunned today, try to keep occupied w this & that.

I m hoping that the rain gets here this eve & ds's game is cancelled tomorrow morn, & then I will just spend the day literally under the covers in bed. I need a day like that. If not, then we have to leave @ 6:30am for the game! Yikes.

Thanks do much again for the moral support... you all r the best.

Michelle.. so sorry for your loss, but it was the kindest thing you could do for Mo. Even though you want to just crawl under the covers and stay there, you have to keep going and looking ahead. It's the same with people and pets.. You dwell on all the good memories and know you did all that you possibly could.

Hugs to you, sweetie.

In honor of all furbabies that we've lost, and especially Mo today!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, Water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Michelle~ big hugs sweetie. I remember when I put Chloe down...I cried ALLLL DAY, then the moment it happened, I felt peace. Never cried again.

Laura~ That was beautiful. I loved reading it!!

Me~ fat and miserable. Think I am having SERIOUS hormone issues...going on Monday to the gyn. Feel fat, bloated, fat and oh yeah...FAT! Moody, emotional and just a plain peach to be around. Plus, bad headaches this week, and a zit the size of Texas on my chin. Yeah...what a babe!

Went to Macy's looking for wedding garb (just in case my "old" wont do). Bought two pairs of FIT FLOPS...kinda like the Shape Ups but in flip flop style. They are cute...bought 2 pair. Not cheap (60 each) but I like 'em, and they come in tons of colors too.

Can't believe the tornado...or tornayda as they pronounce it...scary!

I LOVE Big Girl...about 43% done (gotta love the Kindle). Looking forward to more later.

Have a great Sat night! xoox

About to go to Appleebee's for our date night & then grocery shopping. Tornaydos ain't keepin me down!! Actually it's been false alarms around here all day and NOW it finally is all over the tv showing tornados on the ground and the path etc. etc. I'm just pretending not to hear it. Mom will call me if I need to take cover, and some reason I always feel safer in public, like businesses KNOW the safe place in their shop.. where as I only assume I know the safe place in my house.

Good evening, Violets..

What a nice day today. I got about 20 plants to put in the flower beds. Ethan loved looking at all the flowers and picked out one that he liked that will be "his" flower. The owner even gave it to him for free because she said he was so cute. We went to McDonald's and he got a Happy Meal and I got a Big and Tasty, light mayo. 3 bites and I pb'd it. Guess it was not my day for McDonalds. Ethan and I took a longggggggggg nap and when we got up we watched some more Veggie Tales. The Bobster got us some chicken and then we watched the Iron Giant. Ethan was here from 11 -7, but was really good. Tomorrow Bob and I are going to look at a painted bench for his garden area and we'll see if we can get some of the plants planted.

PamELa.. I'm going to look for those Fit Flops when Kris and I go downstate to see Lord of the Dance May 4th. They look really comfortable. I ordered a top and another skirt today. The one denim skirt I got from ebay fits, but it is slit wayyyyyyy up in the front and that's not me.

I'm 35% done with Big Girl and loving it too.

Everyone have a good evening. sleep well!!

Michelle, sorry about Mo, it is hard, I was with my cat when they put her down, very emotional but knew it was the right thing. The poem Laura posted was beautiful! Thanks!!

We had a BAD, BAD, BAD STORM this afternoon when I was alone at work. I was so scared. The sirens went off 3 times and the radio kept telling us to go in the basement. I will say I was glad I was at work instead of at home on the third and top floor of my condo!! The rain/wind blew my back window down about 4 inches so my driver side back seat and my passenger side front seat were soaked from the rain and wind.

Why do we care what we weigh?

Good morning, Violets..

Couldn't get to sleep last night so came downstairs at 2 to get a couple of tylenol for me knee and surf the net. Finally went back to bed at 3 after it kicked in. Guess I shouldn't have had such a long nap with Ethan yesterday. Oh well... now I'll have to have another today cause I sure didn't sleep much last night.

Off to get ready for church and then lunch out with the Bobster when he gets back from his church.

Everyone have a relaxing day today. Be good to yourselves.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
