YAY michelle!! You're going to have a blast, and make some great memories )

I'm on count-down till Carson can enjoy Disney World.

This week flew by, surprising since I haven't slept in a few nights. We're back to letting him cry it out, he hasn't slept past 2am in days. I think we figured it out, he's been sick for weeks and in that time he's been sleeping in our arms or in our bed with us. Now he's adjusted to that, and so around 2am every night he wakes up and won't go back to sleep unless we hold him. It's slowly but surely getting better.

And the sickness flared back up in Russ & I.. He has been feelign stomach-bugish.. and my cough came back with avengence yesterday morning, that deep loud cough.. ugh. My snot is back to green too, and I'm all congesty (yum right).

Good morning, Violets..

Longgggggggg day yesterday, but it sure felt like Good Friday. I was at the church from 11-3:30. Bob's sermon portion was great and I did well on my song. It was so good to have the "team" back together.. pastor, soloist and accompianist.

I babysat for Ethan and Grady when I got home and I gotta say. 1 is great.. 2 not so much! Especially when Ethan doesn't like Grady because he has to share Gramma time. The guys went golfing and Kris went to Zumba. Luckily I could take the kids out to the backyard, because the inside of the house was trashed!

After the kids left, Bob and I went to an Unveiling of the Cross service which really made me feel like Good Friday and then we went out to dinner.

Today is all about MULCH! We're going to start the flower beds before things strart to grow too much and we can't get in and around plants as easily.

Everyone have a great day!!

Good evening, Violets..

Wonderful day today. Bob and I hauled 12 bags of mulch and I spread 11 of them. I have 1/4 of the flower beds done in the back. I figure about 15 more bags and the back yard will be done. Then on to about 15 more bags for the front yard. Things are starting to get green. We FINALLY got some rain today. It was much needed.

Kris, Nathan, Grady, Bob and I just finished watching the Michigan State/Butler game. Sad to say MSU lost, but the other team certainly deserved to win.

Tomorrow will be a busy, family day. Unfortunately the family is all going to different churches. I'll be at the Alpena church, Bob will be at his church and Kris and Nathan will be at the Presbyterian church in town. They will not go to our church as long as the minister is still there. In the afternoon we will go to Kris's for the Easter dinner. I fixed butternut squash and will take some rolls too. Kris is having ham and cheesy potatoes and pecan pie. Another test for me!

I'm off to bed pretty soon. I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed Easter. Soon we'll be seeing each other again and I for one can't wait!!!

Everyone have a good evening. sleep well.

Morning Girls~

Happy Easter! We are going to the cemetery then hanging around the house today. We've got a Honey Baked ham and will make some "extras" plus German noodles. We have company from Germany all week...pretty funny...what the hell are they saying? Needless to say, I've read a lot of my book. The Open, by Andre Agassi. IT IS FANTASTIC but I don't suggest it unless you are a tennis fan...tons of tennis lingo. I am enjoying it because it is like a conversation w/ him. Sadly, I've got 30 papers to grade today...so no reading for me :bored:

Have a great day...enjoy your Easter treats and festivities. I am skipping mass...the priest said last week that the church fills to capacity (1600) and the fire marshal kicks ppl out. I need to find a new church!

Have a great day!

Good morning and happy Easter!

Don't know why I haven't posted, no excuse!! Really!!

Good for you Michelle for going to WDW!!

Haydee yesterday at work I made a couple of appointments for 6 weeks, and I am like oops won't be here!! IT'S HAYDEE'S WEDDING!!!!!!! I was amazed!!

I am going to my sisters house today. Should be fun. I made two pies last night, we are not a pie family at all, but I saw a recipe for a banana white chocolate pie that sounded good. I took a little piece, it is good. I only changed the crust because it had shortbread Cookies and walnuts, and since I am allergic to nuts, I just bought crusts. I figured the chopped walnuts added something to the chopped cookies to make it mold into a pie shell, am I right Michelle? Plus Walker shortbread was like 4 a container and I needed 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $12 for a pie crust that might not turn out seemed really high to me to try..........

Oh I am rambling something fierce!!!!!!!!!

Have a nice Easter!!!!!!!

Hey Girls~

I don't want to scare off Laura from the Violets 2011 trip to Palm Springs...but the quake was a roller!!! It was in Mex., but we rolled along w/ it. It lasted 45 seconds and my FIL puked. The Water in the pool splashed and came out too. We are fine, Mex is like 2.5 hours away...but wowser.

Off to work! yuckyuckkyuck!!! But I am recharged and ready to take on the day!!! After today we only have 47 more days!!! Not counting my 3 days off in TX.

OMG HAYDEE...you look amazing. Why do we only get a sneak peak??? I WANT MORE!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. I gotta boogey in to work cause I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I AM TEACHING TODAY...and that is driving me nuts!

Sounds like everyone had a lovely Easter!

The kids were off school Friday & today, but go back tomorrow... their break was shortened to make up days from the blizzards. Today is yard work day, which none of us is real eager to get to.

Haydee, those pics are great! Where were they taken? Looks like an interesting, flowery location!

Ok... bye bye Mr. chocolate Bunny... time to get back to being good... back on track... back in the swing of things... I'm dumping my Easter basket candy into the pantry candy bowl (read: anyone ELSE can eat it!) and hitting the pro shakes. Enough of this nonsense is enough!

Make it a great day, everyone!

Thanks ladies! It's only a sneak peek because she is editing them and it will take her two weeks.

We took them yesterday at the gardens around our zoo/museum district in Houston. It was a gorgeous day and based on the sneak I think the pictures will turn out great. We are turning the pics into a sign in book for the wedding...

Easter was nice for us. We got up, I made us breakfast and then we went to mass. Then afterwards we came back home and got ready for our photo-shoot. We were there for about 3 hours. Then went over to my mom's house for some fajitas. Pretty low key. My mom and sisters were busy getting the house ready for next weeks party. The pool had to be cleaned and the outdoor kitchen scrubbed because there has been so much pollen lately.

Today I am lounging in bed for just a few more minutes then headed over to my mom's so I can finish addressing the wedding invites. They HAVE to go out today so that I can start getting the RSVP's back soon.

Everyone have a great monday!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
