52 day menstrual cycle

Recommended Posts

I have never had a normal menstrual cycle due to PCOS. (I hardly ever had my period, and the Doc would give me the Depo shot to make my body have one every once in a while.) Since having LB surgery nearly 4 months ago, I have had my periods start back up again. I have had two. Yay! (I hope to have a baby still, even at the age of 37.) I've charted them as 52 days apart, not the average 28 days. I seemed to ovulate for more than a few days two weeks prior to having my second period. I haven't been worried- and have assumed that everything is "shaking out" and normalizing for me. On the other hand, I worry that now that I'm having my period, they are 52 days apart. What do you guys think about it? I'm down 37 pounds! I love my band! :)

I had the band Feb2010 and my period was so crazy then & before, I would never get it unless I took birth control pills. Finally at the end of Aug2010 my period started up again and Ive had one every two months about a average 53day cycle. I think that the weight loss is what put my periods back on track. I'm going to get the Mirena this month for protection and a better scheduled & hopefully lighter period.

Having a period with any frequency is a good sign. Are you charting your basal body temp, or are you not that far along in your pregnancy journey? I was Dx with PCOS in 2001 and know a TON about infertility and fertility treatments. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime. I spent years trying to have a baby and finally was able to have a baby after two rounds of shots and IUI.

Try not to worry about the cycle days. Celebrate the fact that your period is coming back on its own; that's such a great sign for you!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
