I'm back and banded :)

Recommended Posts

I was banded on Aug 26. Got home on the 27th.

Everything went smoothly. I wasn't in pain so I didn't take any pain meds. I'm sore but that is natural.

My only complaint about my hospital stay was the old man across from me that kept yelling at everyone...all hours. And the machine that was checking my oxygen levels beeped 3 beeps every 15 seconds. So I wasn't getting any sleep even after they set the controls to off between the older man and the older lady who wouldn't stay in bed and the nurses yelling down the hall at her to go back to bed....glad I'm home. So I was catching up on some much needed sleep.

So any newbies **don't be afraid** I've lost 3 lbs already. Four more days of my liquid diet then it's onto blended...yum :frown: :w00t:

Hello, my name is sueann and I got my band on August 25, I did not stay over night in the hospital. My surgery is Dr. Jon Pirrello in Charlotte, NC. I was extremely sore, but today is 4th day post op and I am feeling really good. Having a time getting all these Proteins and liquids in but trying hard. Down 2.5 lbs, don't know how good that is but.......anyone out there having a lot of belching, it started last night and has continued throughout today. Feels like there is something in the middle of my chest and having a lot of belching. Not sure if it is anything to be concerned about or not. I really need this to work and I am trying very hard. Any advice would be appreciated.

Good luck to you all!

Try gas-x strips and make sure you are walking a lot, that will help you get rid of some of the gas. Good luck to both of you and congrats!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
