All Or Most Of Their Desired Weight Loss

Recommended Posts

I apologize in advance if this has been addressed before, but has anyone here lost all or most of their desired weight? I get so nervous hearing all those statistics-ya know, banders only losing 50 % of their desired weight, etc.

I think everyone is doing SO well, and any amount of weight loss is GREAT, no matter what the numbers. I love my band, I love my new body and Im loving my new life.....

The "amount of desired weight" lost is totally in our heads. I have lost as much weight as I want to lose, for now, so I'd have to raise my hand and say YES. That doesn't mean I have a BMI that anyone would call ideal, but I don't care one whit about that.

According to the yardsticks you hear about, I've lost just about 70% of my excess weight. But by MY yardstick, I've lost 3 times what I've ever lost before on my own, and I've maintained this weight for six months or so during which time I have not been actively trying to do anything special. I've never been able to do that before.

There are many ways to define success. Don't let someone else's definition determine yours. :(

One think that is important to keep in mind is that you must pay attention to your Fat Free Mass your FFM number/weight.

By the charts, I "should" weight 125 pounds, because I'm 5'5" tall. There is no way that I will ever be a healthy 125 pounds, because right now, if you sucked every little bit of fat off my body, I would weigh 148 pounds, bone and muscle. At 25% body fat I'll weigh 180 pounds, and I would look skinny. Well, skinny for a running back anyway. :(

I can give you all kinds of statistics. All kinds. They won't mean a damn thing, but I can give them to you. And as a bonus for me, they will look impressive all all get out. Don't you pay attention to that 50% statistic.

You are already past half way, you are doing GREAT!!!! You will lose as much as you are prepared to work for. Are you done losing? If not, then quit worrying, you'll get there! :-)

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
