Recommended Posts

I just had my 2nd fill (surgery date was April 13th of 2009) and I can't seem to keep anything down. I feel like I'm choking...anyone with advice??

Get an unfill sooner rather than later.........I had to get an unfill yesterday I got to where I couldn't keep Water down.

I was at 6cc's but now I am down to 4cc's cause I tried to stick it out for three weeks and got alot of swelling. It feels so good when you get some Fluid out............

If you can't even get Water down, get to your doctors ASAP. Sounds like you need an unfill because it's super tight, and you don't want to get yourself dehydrated or irritate your stomach and lead to slippage and other complications from being too tight.

Yes, call your doc NOW. Don't wait. If you can't swallow Water you'll dehydrate quickly and just get tighter and tighter (plus all the other issues of dehydration)

You'll end up in the emergency room. Easier to call your doc now and get it attended to.

Hey Lola........

I was banded on the 13th of April 13, 2009 too!!

Get an unfill. I did and it is better. Being to tight you won't lose weight either.............if you wait to long they might have to take all the Fluid out due to swelling.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
