Ummm? Bathroom Question

Recommended Posts

:eek::smile2::eek:Those that are on the liquid diet pre or post.....are you having any problem with diarrhea....I know it's gross to talk about but it's bad! I've actually changed clothes twice today. I don't have a gallbladder and was wondering if this was the cause or if anyone else was having this problem. I bought some liquid immodium today and will give it a try this afternoon. I'm trying not to stress my body with any more medications than I already have to take on a normal basis. Thanks Patty

I had diarrhea for a couple of days post surgery. Right now I think i'm the opposite. Ugh. When you see your doc, ask about a Fiber supplement to make sure you stay regular.

I looked on the internet when I was having my problems, and it seems a lot of people had it too after surgery. I heard a lot of people say "liquid in, liquid out" so I think its very common. I hope it goes away for you soon!

I'm still on pre-op diet but I haven't had any issues... first few days it was a little more solid than I am used to, now it's back to a normal consistency but not happening in the volume or regularity that I am used to (obviously because I'm not consuming as much stuff).

Wow, that was personal... LOL.

Nothing sacred here, girls!

I am five days post-op and I have loose stools. Honestly, I confused a fart with a BM yesterday. Not good!

haha that explains why I've heard it called the "never trust a fart phase" I haven't had any issues yet, today is day 11 of liquids. Keeping my fingers crossed that it stays the same after surgery!

I was like widget...liquids in meant liquids out. When I moved to mushies/food, all returned to normal.

I am on day 9 of liquids pre-op and so far haven't had a problem. I won't go for days, but then I go like normal pretty much. I have been taking psyllium husk Fiber (like metamucil) in Water daily and I think that helps. Although it seems it would be the opposite, it atleast adds some "bulk" that isn't there... I plan on keeping on doing it, although post op I will have to sip it and not gulp it down like I have been doing.

I had this problem too and during the clear liquid stage, the doctor had me taking liquid immodium. 5 days later, once I was on the 3 shakes a day, he has me having one activia light vanilla yogurt (70 calories) a day to regulate my stomach flora and I am fine now.

I'm still having potty problems, and today marks 4 weeks out! Grrrrrrrrr....

I've never had a diarrhea problem, I think I had it once, but it was related to the milk of magnesia that I took.

I've always been an every day girl..... now I'm going 5-6-7 days in between. WTH???

I'm definitely tooting.... but otherwise..... nothing. I have had some big problems with constipation..... what is that all about!

Granted.... I'm essentially living on yogurt, mashed eggs, and cottage cheese and green tea.... but c'mon now. I'd be quite happy with every 3rd day at this point.

I'm still losing weight..... and my pee is VERY concentrated.... although I'm drinking nearly constantly (mostly green tea..... 2 cups of joe in the morning, occasional water)

I just don't get it!

OMG! I laughed through this whole post.

Well don't forget you did have surgery on your stomach so it's inevitable it will cause problems with the connections there. lol

My NUT recommended taking benefiber or such after surgery to stay regular but she didn't mention have diahrea. (sp?) I hope I don't, especially once I go back to work ... I can't always run to the bathroom where I work. Sometimes I'm stuck in a patients room for 4 - 8 hours! ugh!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
