But, my friend told me her doctor's nurse told her to tell somebody that you can't shower if you have the band. And I'm new. Will somebody please respond? I just don't know what to do. I haven't been banded yet but I think I'll get de-banded tomorrow. So, can you shower if you're bandededed?

Okay, you can shower. But you CAN'T get your stomach wet (incisions, of course), and you can't use your detachable shower head... down there... Even if you have the pulse setting. DO NOT DO IT!!

PLAIN??? Uh, did you wake up in a tub full of ice? And are you sure you have both your kidneys??

So, what's a kidney weigh, anyway? Just think, a little drink, a little prick (needle, not Plain), wake up x-pounds lighter. I think it's a good deal. Do you have to go to MX tho? I don't speak nothing but English good so I'd be scared. Yeah, I know...ask my doctor on Monday....

Just don't eat or drink anything Plain gives you and you'll be fine.

And get your Water in.

And ask your doctor.

And leave the possums alone.

I hate my surgeon. He put in my band and when I asked to have it removed the next day he said NO! WTH!

How will I know if I am hydrated?

If you've got gills.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
