Dr. Michael Nusbaum - Dr Nusbaum is great!

Recommended Posts

I highly recommend him. I'm his patient but I'm also a doctor myself... I was banded about a year ago by him and have been thrilled.

Good to know - I had my consult last month with him.

What in particular did you like about him and his office?

I was banded on November 4, 2008 by Dr. Nusbaum and to date have lost 90 lbs. My husband was banded by Dr. Nusbaum on February 19, 2009 and to date has lost 65 lbs. Both of us have recommended him to all our friends and some of them have gone to meet with him are now are awaiting a surgery date. We did have one friend who went to someone in the Hazlet area and had her surgery on a Monday and when she called on Wednesday to have a follow up appointment was told her doctor had left the practice. Both my husband and I are so glad that we chose Dr. Nusbaum because he was informative and his office was readily available to us at all times. What other doctor gives his home and cell number to a patient upon release from day stay. We have our new extended life to thank Dr. Nusbaum for. He is a fabulous person as well as a fabulous surgeon.

Does any one knows of any bariatric doctor specifically for Lab Band Fills taking Americhoice?, also that can take patients whom had surgery overseas, but that have been filled by another doctor in the United States. I have been struggling, have found one doctor (Dr. Franklyn Vasquez), to whom I was recommended by my Primary and Gastroenterology Doctor, but he refused to even give me a consultation, as I I have my surgery overseas, I have the feeling that some Surgeons are not compassionate, at least they can take the time to give you a detailed information as to wheter they can follow up with you or not, but not just refuse to take you cause they have not make your surgery. If anyone knows a doctor that can be of help, and that can take Americhoice I would highly apprecite, as I am really in need of a new fill, I have gained 20 pounds since my last fill. I thank everyone for your kindness and consideration to this matter.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
