  1. Does any one knows of any bariatric doctor specifically for Lab Band Fills taking Americhoice?, also that can take patients whom had surgery overseas, but that have been filled by another doctor in the United States. I have been struggling, have found one doctor (Dr. Franklyn Vasquez), to whom I was recommended by my Primary and Gastroenterology Doctor, but he refused to even give me a consultation, as I I have my surgery overseas, I have the feeling that some Surgeons are not compassionate, at least they can take the time to give you a detailed information as to wheter they can follow up with you or not, but not just refuse to take you cause they have not make your surgery. If anyone knows a doctor that can be of help, and that can take Americhoice I would highly apprecite, as I am really in need of a new fill, I have gained 20 pounds since my last fill. I thank everyone for your kindness and consideration to this matter.
  2. Thank you for your reply. I have tried that, and have not find anyone, they do not give you much information, I even have my primary Doctor Referred me to a Gastroenterology, he then referred me to Doctor Vasquez from Clifton Weight Loss, and I was told by his Receptionis, Dr. Vasquez, whom is a Lap Band Surgeon under my Health Insurance Network that he does not take patients whom have been Lap Banded Overseas, even when I explain I have all my records from my surgeon, and even have the revision from the gastroenterologist, they have refused to take me. There is not many compassion when it comes to doctors, they just seen an Overseas Lap Banded Patient as a liability. and I am finally running out of faith this will ever work out for me. But any way, I thank you very much for replying to me. Belkys Santos

  4. I was lap banded back on August 11, 2009, first I lost from 2045 pounds to 194, actually I am starting to gain weight, and am 220, unfortunately have found no help, even when I have Americhoice Health Insurance, been endoscopy texted (came back with bacteria on my stomach, severe gastritis and even Begining of Esophageal Barretts), I have not found a surgeon in northern New Jersey, even when my Gastroenterology Doctor has referred me to some Lap Band Surgeons in my area, they do not accept Overseas Patients. Can someone be so kind to give me some information, or tell me if there is any surgeon in Northern New Jersey able to take an overseas patient, whom has americhoice Health Insurance, whom primary doctor is able to refer mt to. I am desperate, and in urgent need of help. Please get back to me with some help, or surgeon information that I can use. Thanks
  5. Thank you for your reply, i did in fact research the information, but unfortunately with the excitement of the trip i lost information i have found in lapbandtalk. I will continue researching, as i really need to find this information. Thank you for giving me the information and the reason i went overseas, was because i was non insured in the united states, and the cost was much less than here. All i am looking forward is if someone can provide aftercare follow up for this type of surgery in northern new jersey. Thanks again.
  6. I was banded in dominican republic on 08/11/2009. Any suggestions and help will be highly appreciate, i am really in need of this information urgently. Thanks
  7. I also got banded August 11, I still feel sored, chest pain when I try to breath, My doctor has been very expecific with the diet to follow, only Water and medicines, I feel very weak, but will manage, the only thing that makes me feel bad, is that I have experiencing a cough sometimes when I talk for a little while or if I am laying down in bed, my doctor prescribed something for that and hope it would do better. I still feel there is something pressuring my stomach, and I believe it should be normal, but I hope this feeling will dissapear with time, as it is uncomfortable. I just feel optimistic and know that no matter all this issues I will overcome and will loose weight and then I will realize it pays off. Good luck to everyone in this journey.
  8. Well this may sound crazy, I got banded overseas, I am still here in Dominican Republic, my doctor has prescribed this medicines which are very unpleasant to taste, but I have manage to take them, only two small shots type of Water with the medicines three times a day and nothing else, no Protein, no soups, nothing, and this happened on August 11, since then not that I feel hungry, but I feel on starvation mode. Besides, I have started to feel a strange cough if I have a conversation, or right after I drink the water, also when I lay down on bed. Is something wrong with my band. I asked my doctor and he said is normal. My incisions are very small, and have no pain at all, but this situation of no aliments (at least protein shakes), is getting me thinking if I would become anorexic instead of loosing weight the right way. Has anyone any comments. Please let me know or give me any tips. Thanks,
  9. I am getting banded aug/11 at the dominican republic, i am fliying tomorrow nite and arriving at santo domingo early morning aug 9. I am excited and affraid too. Hope everything is ok. 10. This is the web site of my doctor in case you want to check. It is in Dominican Republic, but you can email him all your questions, and he will get back to you and answered them in a short time. You will find lots of information by visiting his site. Dr. Manuel Joseph Ram
  11. I will be banded in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic by Dr. Joseph Manuel Ramirez Kubicek on the 11th., I am following the only protein diet for this week, and from the 3 of august only mushy, liquids and NO CARBS, NO Sweets, NO Meat diet. Any ideas for this mushy, blended protein diet? Hope everything goes well with all of us.
  12. I think that if you can inspired so many people like us, why not inspire yourself, you can do it, and you look amazing now, but if loosing 10 or 20 more pounds will make you happy, go for it, you said it, you are a goal oriented person, so keep with the good work and you will suceeed, just think of people like me whom are just going to start this journey and for whom you have became an inspiration, and that will give you the push to continue. You are the motivation of so many others, then go ahead and push a little harder and you will see how you will succeed. You are so closed to your final goal that I feel jealous (in a good way) Don't give up, don't discourage yourself. You Can Do It.

I AM GETTING BANDED ON AUGUST 11, 2009, IN DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, I AM SCARED BUT ALSO EXCITED. I HAVE TO DO THIS FOR MYSELF AND FOR THOSE WHO LOVE ME AND WANT ME TO FEEL GOOD NOT ONLY HEALTHY, BUT ALSO WHILE I LOOSE MY WEIGHT TO GAIN MY SELF ESTEEM AND COMFIDENCE AGAIN, AND TO PROOF THOSE THINKING THAT OVERWEIGHT MEANS FAILURE, THAT I COULD ACHIEVE ALL MY DREAMS. I WISH I CAN FIND PEOPLE FROM MY AREA (NORTHERN NEW JERSEY) TO BECOME "JOURNEY BUDDIES" TO GIVE SUPPORT AND IDEAS TO SUCCEED IN THIS NEW GOAL. PLEASE WISH ME LUCK.
