I have a dog named Rudy. I always give my dogs a zillion nicknames. One day, I called him by his "Latin" name [tongue in cheek]: Ru - tig - li - us.

It stuck.

My Grandfather gave me that name, Doodlebug, when I was a baby just learning how to crawl. I would start out going forward then end up going backwards and we lived in Texas where there are doodlebugs that come out of the ground and that's how they come out, forward then they see something and go backwards into their holes! My sister still calls me Bug to this day and I just love it because my Grandfather was my hero !!! I had to put the 11 on the end of it cause someone else had Doodlebug.

Bashful from Snow White and the Seven dwarfs is my favorite Disney character. I loved the way he would blush. I am very bashful and blush very easily so...it fits.

This is a fun topic! Um, I suppose I don't really need to go into any great detail about how I chose my name though.

yes, I suppose if I was to post here, I should probably include MINE!

Many moons ago, I played in a Rock and Roll band, we toured all over the place, and we had lots of nice little groupies. As a result, my band mates gave me that nickname.

I will let your imagination fill in the sordid details......:)

I have used it ever since, even going back to the "CB Radio" days, where it was my "handle".

HH

O M G :)

I can't believe you were in a rock and roll band. :)

(ha gotcha i bet)

What did you play? Besides the field, that is

About 10 years (and another 50 pounds less) ago, my husband and I decided to avail ourselves of some "continuing adult education" classes. We took swing dancing (most improved and please don't come back) (we were enthusiastic if unskilled) and Yoga.

During our first yoga class, whilst lying on towels brought from home in a dirty "music room" at a local school, in the dark, in the heat (A/C was turned off and just as an FYI it's still 92 here at 1040PM so it was HOT) during "quiet time" (like nap time for preschool I think) I heard a guy doing some fancy "In one nostril out another" yoga breathing. I'm sure to a yogi this is very important. I'm sure it's a skill that takes mastery. But to me, in the heat in the dark on a towel on a dirty floor I thought to myself "Oh my good grief. I am lying here on a towel etc listening to a man SNORKEL his SNOT. And I PAID for the privilege! I started to giggle. I've been told I have an infectious giggle. I don't know if that's true. BUT out of the dark sotto voce I heard my husband grind out "SHUT UP" That made me start to laugh outright (you know you've all been there...it is totally inappropriate to laugh so you really have to just DO IT!) and HE started laughing. And then someone else. And then another.

SOON I think about everyone EXCEPT my teacher (she with the lovely Indian accent...so pretty and exotic) and Mr. SS (Snot snorkel) were rolling around on their towels on the dirty floor in the heat, LAUGHING.

The lights BLARED on. She GLARED at me. She said (imagine the accent please...it took the sting out)

Your mind is like a RESTLESS MONKEY....Leaping from limb to limb. You need to be still!!! Oh no way. I laughed until I almost wet myself.

That's how I got my screen name, and it's also how my husband and I got ejected from Yoga class. And asked not to come back.

So we took tai chi. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
