Hi everyone! I lost 8lbs this week which puts me at 82lbs lost in 15 weeks. I am down to 407 & on my way to surgery in less than two weeks!

Hi Guys

I have had an extremely frustrating week - after a stellar effort in week 1 on the post-op diet where the pounds were just melting off me, week 2 was a different story. On Monday my period arrived (it doesn't show up for months at a time, and then thinks THIS is an appropriate time to make an appearance) and BAM the scales instantly stopped moving... they did not move for 4 days, I was ready to tear my hair out when finally they started to drop again - but as a result, my loss for the week is fairly unimpressive.

Miss K...a loss is a loss and not a gain!! Good for you for losing with your period.

Thanks Jen )

I think the reason I was mainly worried was that I was scared the weight wouldn't drop again and that my weight loss on the pre-op would look unimpressive to the surgeon and make him think that I cheated.

But even if it doesn't move again, 13lbs down in 14 days isn't so bad.

Allison, I have heard that is very normal. I bet you could check out the general message boards and find a lot of info on it. Here is one quote I found on the general message boards...

" During this time you are not only healing but you're not able to do a lot of things like exercising. Also, from what I understand they pumped about 10 lbs worth of liquids into us and that will fall off of you within the next couple of weeks. Don't be worried about not showing the weight loss this soon after your surgery, it will happen. Watch all the calories in any liquids you drink as they can be really sneaky in pushing up your intake. Also, some drinks like gatoraide have sodium in them. Watch your sodium intake too. It will happen. "

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
