I had to do only one day of liquids only, and then I was able to move on to the "Puree" stage. I've been eating cream of wheat with a scoop of Protein Powder, pureed chili, and my fav is turkey meatballs with sauce pureed. Starting Saturday I get to go to the "Soft Diet" stage which I'll be on for 2 weeks before going to the normal food. I can't wait to eat some delicious salmon on Saturday!!

I had my 2 week nutritionist appt today, and I am pretty much able to eat whatever I can tolerate. She says since I have no restriction, I can probably eat anything, but that when I have a fill, I will probably have some difficulty eating certain foods. I can have fish, pork, deli meat, chicken (she said that might be tough - to make sure it's good and moist), cheese, whatever. The only limits are on veggies and carbs. I can have unsweetened applesauce, green Beans, cooked carrots. That's about it. I hope I can stick to that. She also said if I am really craving a veggie or carb to have a little of it. Sounds good to me. I had 2 eggs with cheese for Breakfast and a salmon filet with pomegranate sauce for lunch. YUMMY! (and I am not really crazy about salmon, but it was good!)

Oh Mary, you know just what I like lol the salmon sounds amazing! I am a HUGE seafood person, as well as fruit so it's right up my ally. Happen to have a recipe for that?

I made have made a few good concoctions since pureed stage; first was black bean Soup, w/some rotisserie chicken (its much more moist than grilled), little bit of part skim ricotta cheese, cilantro and lime juice - then use your food processor to give it a refried bean texture. The other was actual low fat refried Beans, more rotiss. chicken, little 2% shredded cheese, and greek yogurt (to thin it out) with more cilantro. Very flavorful and Protein rich. :D

Well, I am allergic (deathly) to all types of seafood or shellfish they can test for, so there will be no salmon for me!

I have been eating turkey or chicken with gravy to make it moist and baked or mashed potatoes. I have also had green Beans and light string cheese. I did just pull off a bit of sauce and cheese from my hubby's pizza and it was great! My next venture will be some chili which I may have to put in the magic bullet.

last weekend my sisters were in town for a visit with their families and my mom ordered pizza. I could not resist so I ate all the toppings off of a slice of combination. It was heavenly. That was the only day that I really struggled with the no carb rule. I absolutely love pizza and used to be able to finish about four or five slices. The toppings really stopped the craving and I got through it.

Is tuna part of mushies? I didn't think so, I was afraid, but definitely craving it! I have had scrambled eggs (very soft) - cottage cheese, nonfat frozen yogurt, Tomato Soup with a teaspoon of non-fat ricotta - Anderson's Pea Soup (vegetarian version in non-fat) - I tried to puree some foods I like - YUCK! Cream of chicken soup - would love to have chili for the flavor, but I'm not that adventurous yet.

Ordered some great after surgery recipe books scheduled for delivery Tuesday. I have to be able to cook for the family and myself so I am looking for menus and recipes that can be altered for me as well. My family eats pretty healthy since I have been watching what I eat for months pre-op.

I would love to start a recipe exchange!

I did egg salad with low fat mayo. Ive also done a lot of refied Beans. I made cream of potato Soup and put a little shredded cheese on top. I also made scalloped potatos. I went to taco bell with my family and had pintos and cheese, but my daughter had nacho supreme and I ended up eating a little bit of her toppings (not the chips). Yum fake cheese sauce lol. Its so bad but its so good. I wont do that one again though. Too many calories. I havent tried meat yet. My diet says I can have canned chicken or tuna, and ground beef. But I dont eat tuna; and canned chicken just sounds gross to me. Tonight Im going to make meatloaf and gravy and mashed potatos. Hopefully the ground beef goes ok. Im thinking the gravy will help wash it down. My Dr says to drink Water with my meals untill I am on week six. After week six I am not ever suposed to drink with meals again. Thats going to be a hard one!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
